Super cheery Southwest truck!
I purchased this backyard survivor several months back and have done tons of mechanical work $$$$ to bring her up to daily driver status to use for a business project I was planning with a friend who is now fighting cancer. I have to give up on this dream for awhile at least and I can't let this just sit once again. I don't need the truck now and probably won't need it - at least for the foreseeable future - but it has so many new parts and is very straight and clean! - Dust, not rust.
5000 on the odometer and that has to be turned over only once as the ball joints were still factory and not squeaking when I got it. We did replace the front suspension anyway though due to dry rot of the rubber bushings from sitting forever. Also, engine is the factory engine - last part of VIN is stamped on the block - and she runs nice and clearly has never been overhauled. We did re-seal the engine though - again from sitting.
Nearly everything plausible has been done mechanically to this to bring it up to reliable daily-driver status. The body is straight and you can see the paint job as either “beautiful patina” or at the very least as proof of the low miles and lack of abuse. This thing was some grandpa’s fishing truck and then pretty-much sat in a backyard in East Mesa for over 2 decades from the way things look.
It's straight and just sat for a couple decades or so. The guy I got it from had done had pulled it out and starting replacing stuff on her. I finish some of his work and turned it over to an excellent shop to go over and did tons of work - she is pretty close to excellent mechanical condition. It will need a shakedown cruise and I'm sure a few minor things may happen while getting shook out.
There really is a LOT of truck here and a ton of nice new parts! See partial receipts (3 pages) plus tons of stuff previous owner did on truck incl new batt, starter, fuel pump, carb, gas tank, sending unit, alternator etc…. He did a ton, then I had a ton done - LOTS of nice new parts here… LOTS of truck for the buck!
Has minor tranny fluid leak but tranny works fine. Needs TLC on interior, driver window, stereo and you probably want different rims/tires and a custom paint job.
Make arrangements to come by and see it.
Local pickup only. If you want to arrange for a third party to pick it up that’s fine, but entirely on you.
