ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE IS A 435 DATE CODE CORRECT ENGINE WITH ITS ORIGINAL PAD. IT IS NOT THE ORIGINAL ENGINE OR POWER FOR THIS CAR. THE BOLT ON WHEELS ARE REPRODUCTION AND THE SIDE PIPES WERE ADDED. NOW ALL THE GOOD STUFF! I HAVE COPIES OF EVERY TITLE. TRANSFERS. SOME BANK DOCS. INSURANCE PAPERS. POWER OF ATTORNEY PAPERS. ETC SINCE NEW! WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR SIX YEARS AGO. I FOUND AND SPOKE TO THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND RECORDED THE CONVERSATION WITH HIS PERMISSION. THIS CAR IS NO LESS THEN STUNNING. THE INTERIOR IS NO LESS THAN A 9. THE PAINT IS CERTAINLY A 9 AND THE ENGINE IS A 9. ALL ARE AS NICE AS POSSIBLE FOR A DRIVER. I DRIVE THIS CAR IN CENTRAL FLORIDA DURING THE SUMMER WITH NO OVERHEATING ISSUES. THERE IS NOT ONE FLECK OF RUST ON THE FRAME. ADDITIONALLY. THE CAR HAS A STRAIGHT NO HIT BODY. THERE WAS A MINOR REPAIR MADE BY THE ORIGINAL OWNER WHEN HE ROLLED INTO A CAR AND BUMPED THE RIGHT HEADLIGHT BUCKET BUT THAT IS IT. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR IT CAME TO ME WITH A NON DESCREPT 427 ENGINE THAT RAN EXTREMELY WELL. A FRIEND OF MINE TOLD ME OF A GENTLEMAN THAT HE PURCHASED AN ORIGINAL 435 ENGINE FOR SOME 30 YEARS AGO AND THAT HE HAD NEVER DONE ANYTHING WITH THE ENGINE OTHER THEN TO TEAR IT DOWN. HE FINALLY CONVINCED TO BUY THE ENGINE. REBUILD IT AND PUT IT IN THE CAR. I HAD NO IDEA OF THE SERIAL NUMBER UNTIL I SAW IT AND IT JUST HAPPENED TO BE EXTREMELY CLOSE IN NUMBERS TO MY CAR. IN FACT. THE ENGINE WAS BUILT ON 11/16/66 AND MY CAR WAS BUILT ON 12/22/66. PRIOR TO REBUILDING AND PUTTING THE ENGINE IN MY CAR. I SPENT HOURS TRYING TO LOCATE THE CAR AND FINALLY DID. HOPING TO REUNITE THE ENGINE TO THE CAR. I CONTACTED THE OWNER ONLY TO BE TOLD HE HAD THE "ORIGINAL ENGINE" IN HIS CAR. HE DID NOT WANT TO BELIEVE OTHERWISE. I HAD THE ENGINE BORED . 030. HAD PISTONS MADE FOR IT (NO CHINESE STUFF). USED THE ORIGINAL CRANK AND RODS. BALANCED IT AND USED THE BEST OF EVERYTHING TO BUILD IT PROPERLY. IT IS TOPPED WITH AN ORIGINAL INTAKE AND DATE CODE CORRECT CARBS WHICH WERE RESTORED BY BLP PRODUCTS. PHOTOS WERE TAKEN DURING THE REBUILD. IT STILL MAINTAINS ITS ORIGINAL MUNCIE BUT THE REAR WAS CHANGED WHEN THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. IN THE CONVERSATION WITH THE ORIGINAL OWNER. HE TOLD ME HE DROVE A LOT AND WOULD ONLY BUY THE CAR IF THEY PUT HIGHWAY GEARS IN IT. THE DEALERSHIP SWAPPED OUT THE REAR WITH ANOTHER NEW CAR ON THE LOT. IT NOW HAS A 3:08 REAR GEAR DATED ONE MONTH AFTER PRODUCTION OF THE CAR. THEREFORE. NOT ONLY DO YOU HAVE A CAR WITH BRUTAL HORSEPOWER AND TORQUE. YOU CAN TAKE IT OUT AND DRIVE IT 70 ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR HAS A RESTORATION BATTERY AND EVERYTHING HAS BEEN MAINTAINED PROPERLY. THE CAR HAS ITS ORIGINAL STEEL WHEEL SPARE WITH A REPRODUCTION REDLINE TIRE. TIRES ON THE CAR ARE FROM DIAMONDBACK AND ARE ACTUALLY MICHELINS. THERE IS POWER STEERING AND POWER BRAKESI DON'T OVERSTATE ANYTHING IN MY ADS AND CAN SAY OUT OF ALL THE CORVETTES I HAVE OWNED. THIS CAR IS TIGHT. HANDLES WELL AND EVERYTHING WORKS EXCEPT A LEAKY WASHER PUMP GASKET. THE FRONT PAGE PHOTO OF THE AUTOTRADER WAS NOT A LISTING OF MY CAR FOR SALE.
