Car description

Beautiful All Original 1950 Chevy Advanced Design 3600 Pickup TruckHere we have for sale a beautiful all original 1950 Chevy Advanced Design 3600 pickup truck. This is a gorgeous truck with all original paint and engine. How amazing is it to find a truck with the original paint and original numbers matching engine! The odometer says 37. 00 miles. when the previous owner of 15 years of the truck took apart the starter and generator to rebuild them to make sure they are good to go for another 50 years. the brushes and all of the internals looked new! So he didn't need to do anything because everything looks new. I tend to believe that this is an original 37. 00 mile truck. The paint has beautiful original patina on it that only time could create. The only reason there is paint wore off is because the truck sat for over 25 years beside a barn in Northern California. If it only sat inside that barn. it would have even better paint. The truck has absolutely zero rust through anywhere. The cab is very very nice. The cab corners are perfect with no rust holes like these typically get. The doors shut effortlessly. This is a 1950 Thriftmaster Advanced Design style pickup. The early Advanced Design Chevy pickup trucks had one piece side windows and a cowl vent mounted on the side of the cowl by the driver side door. No other truck passed 1950 have these features. The early Chevy Advaced Design pickups are very sought after and hard to find. The whole entire truck is very straight with just minor dings here and there from usage over the years. The fenders are all very very straight. The grille on the truck is one of the nicest. most straight grilles I have ever seen! Just take a look at the original two tone paint on the grille. The pickup also has its original chrome front and rear bumpers. Now when have you ever seen a truck with a regular rear bumper like this one? They always have some heavy duty towing bumper on the truck. Not this one! I have to think that this truck was rarely used as an actual "truck". The bed and tail gate are straight and not all dented up like typical old trucks get. The windows of the truck are nice and all original. The wheels and hubcaps are original to the truck with new Firestone whitewall tires. However the tires were installed almost 10 years ago so the whitewalls are cracked but the tread is still like new! The tires totally match the patina look of the entire truck. They look like they could pass as the original tires. The spare tire that is mounted under the bed is in fact brand new and never ever used since new in 1950. The running boards have the original black paint on them. However. the original owner of the truck got a little too close to a tree with the passenger side running board and it did push it in a bit. The brakes were all gone through and stop quickly with a strong and firm pedal. The truck on the side is very nice for being 65 years old. The seat cover was reupholstered to match perfectly with the original stock seat cover that was installed in the truck. The door panels and headliner are all original and have never been changed. Those are just cardboard. so that is also how you can tell that this is such a low mile. all original pickup. The floor mat is in great shape. the rubber is very soft and pliable. The dash is nice with the original radio delete plate intact. The gauges all work perfect. The speedometer needle has fallen off. which is very typical for these trucks. A replacement needle can be bought new on ebay. The steering wheel is nice and has some paint wear from being original. The door and window rubber and tracts were all redone to seal the cab tightly from the elements and to keep it sealed when driving down the road. The truck is still original 6v and all works perfectly. All of the eletrical works perfect on the truck. the horn. heater. defroster. turn signals. headlights. dome light and everything else. The truck still has all of its original cloth braided wiring that is in great shape! The heater warms the cab quickly on a cold morning. The original vacuum operated windshield wipers work perfectly. The engine is the original numbers matching 235ci straight 6 engine. How rare and cool is that to have the original engine in a truck. Just look at how nice that engine is! The valve cover still has the original Thriftmaster decal on the sides of it. The 235ci engine which had higher horsepower and torque was put in the 3600 3/4 ton pickups to give it more power. The engine runs amazing! It holds a constant high oil pressure. It sounds like it's just purring away while at idle. It does leak a little bit of oil. The engine starts up quickly and easily. There are no issues with 6v here! Like I said before with the generator and starter. those were going to get rebuilt as just a precautionary maintenance but they looked new inside so that was not needed! The radiator was replaced with a NORS that is identical to the original one. It was replaced also around 10 years ago but it has some chips in the paint that makes it look original. The thermostat was changed to a 180 degree one. This truck absolutely never gets hot and overheats even in the dead of summer. The truck has a four speed transmission with a granny first gear. The truck shifts through all the gears perfectly and with ease. The clutch feels perfect and does not slip or have any issues. The carb and intake are all original and work perfectly. The original choke and throttle pull are still working perfect. This is such a spectacular truck! You just never ever see them this original and this clean! It does have its wear in places. It has some wood missing in the bed from sitting alongside that barn for 25 years like I talked about. The chrome bumpers are patinad but look good for a truck this old. The paint is worn through to the metal on the hood and rear fenders. The truck just has a ton of character and that is what makes it so special. It is such a wondeful driver. I have very neat old old wonder stake bed sides that can go with the truck is the new owner wants them. Anybody can own a restored truck. but what is special about that? Why not own an all original pickup that shows nice character. I can store this truck for one month at my house so that shipping arrangements can be made and the truck be picked up by the shipping company. I can help do whatever I need to in coordinating with the shipping company in pickup. I can make myself available to help load the truck if needed. I have a California title for the truck that matches the vin on the door vin plate. I have the original owners manuals for the truck. Please contact me with any and all questions that you might have before bidding on the pickup. My phone number is 775-830-6760. Do not miss out on this opportunity to buy such a nice original pickup. They do not come around very much and this is your chance! Thanks for looking! On Feb-27-15 at 16:19:59 PST. seller added the following information:It has been brought up to me that this is not a 235ci. it is a 216ci. I misinterpreted some information from a website online. It is still the original 1950 216 straight 6 engine in the truck which is what makes it rare and unique to find.
