1948 Chevrolet Chevy Loadmaster
NO RESERVE!!!!
Here's a great old Chevy truck. This truck was still in use on the farm until this year, when it was retired for a larger truck, so everything is in pretty decent operating condition.
First of all, this truck is extremely solid, virtually no rust, solid cab corners, etc. All the glass is good other than a cracked back window. The driver side window needs a little help when rolling up - so it could use some attention. It does have various dings here and there, and a dent in front of driver door, where the wind caught it, but overall, in great condition.
Mechanically - this truck is amazing. Keep in mind that it is 70 years old, so it will probably require a little tinkering here and there, but it starts easy, runs well, shifts fine, and stops great. The engine has been swapped out for a later model 235, so you still have the original look, with a much more drive-able engine that carries good oil pressure and runs great.
One downside to a lot of these trucks, is the brakes fail or leak due to sitting. This one has actually had a recent brake job with new wheel cylinders (according to previous owner) and is also equipped with rare power brake option for an old truck - this thing stops on a dime. It also comes equipped with a PTO operated dump bed, that works well, it even has auxiliary hydraulic ports at the rear to operate other hydraulic equipment (this was used to run an auger). It is roughly a 10ft bed, so big enough to haul some cargo, but not too big to get around in. This truck is also small enough to haul on a good car trailer. I hauled it home on my 16ft trailer.
As for the title, I have a clear title for the truck, however, these old Chevy's, at least in Kansas, were titled using the engine numbers, and the engine has been changed. If this is an issue in your state (some it is, some it isn't) I will get a new, vin matching title. This is very simple in Kansas, I would just ask an additional $100.00 to cover my expenses. Takes 30 days or less, and I guarantee it - please check my feedback.
Overall, this would make a great truck for a small working farm, parade truck, landscaping truck, etc - the possibilities are endless. Please call Cort at 620-786-5172 with any questions. Thank you and good luck!
