Car description |

This is the one and only Queen City Chevrolet 61 Impala NHRA IHRA national record holder 4 door hardtop. Car was originally campaigned out of Queen City Chevrolet in CincinnatiOhio. It is loaded with Win stickers from various tracks in the mid west for decades. I purchased the car 16 years ago and went through it top to bottom to make it a bit more up to date and reliable for Nostalgia racing and bracket racing. Car is deadly consistentand always goes rounds. It has gotten me to the winner circle locally many times, and won nostalgia events at our area tracks.
The car is a 292 CI. I am told it has a short stroke crank and a 4 inch bore to make the 292. When I bought it, it had Stahl headers, cast heads and stock intake with a carter AFB. I have the original heads and intake, not sure if I still have the carb. Currently it has a pair to Trick Flow heads, Performer RPM air gap intake and a Holley 650 double pumper. Headers have been replaced with a much better flowing pair of hooker headers exiting behind the wheels. Has Mallory Iginition Electric water pump and fan. Has Edelbrock Hyd cam, comp roller rockers and comp timing chain.Transmission was built locally 2 years ago by Transmasters Transmission, converter is a Art Carr 3500 stall. B&M ratchet shifter.
Brakes were all redone, new wheel cylinders, hoses, etc. Steering was also all updated. Rear differential was rebuilt with Eaton posi, 4.10 Richmond gears and Moser hardened axles. I have the original locked 5.56 center section it had when I bought the car. Have extra axles, extra center section and an extra housing that will also go with the car. It ran a 7.80 with the tall gear in the 1/8 mile. Currently has gone a 7.95 in cold fall weather. Summer heat in the dead of day, it is in the 8.0's to 8/teens when it is over 90 degrees.Interior wise, we had the seats and carpets redone. Headliner is decent intact, door panels show wear, dash is excellent. Car has cool vintage gauges, tach is upgraded as are the switches. Still has the original under dash tissue holder and Guide traffic light finder. There is a fuel cell in the trunk that I installed, original tank is still in place but to race, you need to keep at least 1/4-1/2 tank so it does not dry sump. Runs on a mix of 3 gallons 93 octane 2 gallons 108 Octane.Front runners are new, the slicks have probably a half season on them yet.It really pains us as a family to part with it, I went through a health issue this past winter/spring and being self employed, had no income, and have bills and copays that need to be met so we decided to part with the car. The only things that will not go with the car are the plates and the light up skull in the back window, both were given to me by my late father years ago.Terms are simple, you bid to own, you pay. I can store the car for a while if need be for a few weeks as long as it is paid for and you accept responsibility. Anything longer, we have a self storage up the road, we can put it in for you at your expense.Payment is expected in full within 3 business days of auctions end by Cash in Person (preferred) or bank to bank wire transfer ONLY. Paypal will be accepted for a deposit ONLY!This car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. This car has been raced since new, it is a 1961, has no title, Ebay makes you chose an option, but being a 61 it never had a title, it will be sold with a bill of sale only.I have many more photos, and a walk around video, email me and I can send you the file. Ebay only allows 24 pics.
