Car description

I purchased this vehicle from a classic car dealer who bought it in Colorado at an estate auction. They sold it as a "barn find" on a bill of sale. The family of the estate said it hadn't been registered since 1979; they couldn't find the title and didn't want to get a title. They weren't sure if it was a 1965 or 1966, but the bill of sale says it's a 1966. Winning bidder will be getting a bill of sale only from me. It does have a VIN tag, but it does not have a trim tag. It looks to have been a factory maroon car. It looks like someone might have painted it yellow at one time. It looks like they may have been getting it ready to be painted again. They took the bumpers, grill, rocker trim, driver's door panel and maybe a few other parts off the car in preparation. I did not get the missing parts when I purchased the car. This is a very straight car. It looks like it's never been hit. The fenders have been flared and an extra taillight added to the rear. The hard top is very rough. The soft top is down and I've never looked at it. The seats and dash pad look to be in good shape. It does smell like mice have been in the car at one time. It looks to me like it has a 327 engine. I put Marvel Mystery Oil in the cylinders for about a week. I put a battery in it and it spun over freely. I think, if the fuel system and carburetor were gone through, the car would run. I believe, by the tach, that it's a 350 hp car. It does have a 4 speed transmission and appears to have the original shifter. On the driver's side, either the rear brake or the bearing is stuck, as the wheel will not roll. It does have a set of original Ansen Wheels, made in CA stamped on the back, on it. The frame doesn't have rust holes in it. I do not know if numbers on this car match. This car would make a good race car, retro-mod car, restoration car or parts car. I will try to answer questions you may have, but I know very little about the car's history. It is sold as-is. This is a No Reserve auction on this car.

A couple of people have emailed a concern that I feel best to answer for all to be able to read. The concern is over the VIN tag. I don't normally deal in classic Corvettes, so I googled '66 Corvette VIN tags. Some came up like the one on my car, some came up with rosette rivets . I believe rosette rivets are the correct ones for the VIN tag to have. I did some more research and a person can get the correct VIN tag and rivets. I want to make sure that the person who ends up as high bidder to be happy with the car and to know what he/she is getting. Thank you to the 2 people who brought that to my attention.

I want to make sure everyone is aware that eBay requires an answer under the "Vehicle Title", but the drop-down only covers "Clear, Salvage, Rebuilt, Lemon, Flood". It does not have "Other or Bill of Sale". This car is being sold with a Bill of Sale as I mentioned in my initial description. It has been brought to my attention that the VIN tag is a reproduction, which I mentioned in my previous edit. I want to make sure everyone is aware of this when bidding. I want to make sure the winning bidder is happy with their purchase. Also, as mentioned in my initial description, there are parts of the car that appear to be 1965 parts. There are parts of the car that appear to be 1966 parts. I'm not an expert on Corvettes. The Bill of Sale I received states 1966. The Bill of Sale the winning bidder will receive will state 1966.
