Car description |

Up for sale is an excellent recreation of one of the most iconic muscle cars ever produced. The 1970 454 / 450 HP Chevelle SS
YES I SAID RE-CREATION, CLONE, TRIBUTE call it what you like. What you have is a beautifully restored muscle car that turns heads and stops traffic wherever you take it
Beautiful deep black paint, iconic cowl induction hood with white stripes and stunning parchment interior
The car was purchased about 5 years ago by very dear friend who passed away 3 months after buying the car. The car has been in the care of his daughter and son in law who took exceptional care of it. He babied the car, did minor badging upgrades and of course regular maintenance. He kept the car in immaculate condition and has had it garaged under cover the entire time
The car blows people away at car shows and has taken 1st place trophies on several occasions. Its that nice!
As fate would have it my car show buddy's daughter and son n law are splitting up. She has asked me to help sell the car. I encouraged her to keep it but she wants to "turn the page" and move on
I really don't know the car in intricate detail. I am a life long Pontiac guy and don't know the p's and q's of Chevrolet
My apologies in advance for not having the answers to all your questions. I will attempt top provide you with as much information as possible
I went Sunday to drive the car and get a better feel for what i am selling. I took the car for a long ride which I have to tell you i really enjoyed. The car is equipped with a 450HP crate motor and has the classic "lopey cam" sound running through flow master exhaust. Sounds very beasty
It rattles a little a little bit but overall a nice comfortable ride. The steering was tight (for a 50 yr old car) and the automatic shifted fine.
Of some concern was the reverse gear seemed a little sloppy and I cant tell if the automatic transmission was modified to perform that way
Also the drivers side door hinge is in need of replacement . Barks when you open the door all the way. included in the pictures
The only work that was done by the current owner was the rear end was reserviced when he first bought the car. The invoice indicates services performed)
Having owned muscle cars for the past 20 years I have always believed I could tell the overall condition of a car after driving it. I believe this car to have performed as expected
Taking into consideration that the car is close to 50 years it's amazing it drives as nice as it did
The water temp did not go over 160 degrees the oil pressure gauge read 40 lbs at an idle and the amperage needle hovered between 13-14
I will try and add the gauge picture taken while the car was running
The car is up for auction and the reserve is set at a fair price . To restore a car to this condition would cost substantially more than she is asking
If you have any questions about the car please email me and I will do the best I can to assist.
The car is located in Long Island, NY and I would encourage you to inspect the car prior to purchase. I will try and be as accommodating as possible
We will be offering the car for sale locally so we reserve the right to end the auction at any time
The car is being sold in "as is " condition with no verbal or written warranties implied
A deposit of $500.00 is due at the end of the auction with the balance due within 48 hrs
Buyer is responsible for shipping
Good luck in your bidding . Thank you for reading our story, Ron
