Here is your chance to own a rare piece of history. This is a 1949 Chevrolet Canopy Express. When is the last time you saw one? There were only 270 produced in 1949. How many are left? This vehicle is 100% complete. It runs. drives. stops. steers and does everything it is supposed to do. All of the lights work except for the parking lights that only need to be rewired. The carb has been rebuilt along with the master cylinder. It has all new ignition components. The truck has been completely rewired (the original wiring was brittle and unsafe). All of the gauges work with the exception of the temp gauge. Has a GMC heater with two blower motors. One for the heater and one for the defrost. The truck is not without its issues. though they are minor considering the rarity of this truck. The inner cowl and filler panel are rusty. The lower body in front of the left rear wheel has rust but it is only in the outer panel. The lower body behind the rear wheels has some rust. There is also some rust in the bottom of the tailgate although the hinges operate as they should. Some minor rust in the inner bed panels. This Canopy Express has a partition between the passenger compartment and the bed area. I have seen others that do not have this. Both correct seats are present. Both seats tilt forward and the passenger seat also slides sideways. The pins for securing side curtains are present around the display opening. This is an EXCELLENT starting point for a restoration. Rarely do you find a rare vehicle like this that is this complete. If I have left out any details. please contact Tom at 303-364-4010 or 303-261-6957. Thanks for looking at my auction and good luck. Oh. and the horn works also.
