This restored classic Chevy truck is such a beauty!
To give some context on it -- we bought it from the Volo Auto Museum in 2018 (here is the listing:https://www.volocars.com/vehicles/14056/1930-chevrolet-1-2-ton-pickup-truck) and had it shipped to Houston, where it has been in our garage. The plan was to use it as marketing for a business, but some family matters have changed the plans there and we need to sell it. Upon prepping it for sale, we can't get the engine to turn over. We replaced the ignition coil and bought a new battery (battery hasn't been installed yet, but would come with the truck), and two different mechanics thinks it's a minor fix.
We have had two mobile mechanics, both of which gave it the same diagnosis and said to get in contact with their HQ for ordering the part. When dealing with their corporate offices, they both said they didn't order parts for cars older than 1960. I don't love the idea of towing it out to a shop, and honestly we are sick of going back and forth with mechanics--so instead we are offering the truck at a steep discount so we can close this chapter. We have a new baby and miss our garage!
I am happy to give additional photos, FaceTime to show you the truck and describe what the mechanics think the issue is, and let in you or mechanics to see it in person. Please contact me at 813-465-4372 if you have any questions or interest! It has a clean title.
Here is the description from Volo: "You see lots of Ford pickups restored for show and tour today but rarely do you have the opportunity to own a beautiful 1/2 ton Chevrolet pickup, all steel with varnished bed and side rails. This truck was recently frame off restored, clad in high gloss Hunter green and black steel body and fenders. The interior is black leatherette seats and kick panels. The 6 cylinder engine was completely rebuilt.... A real head turner. The commercial truck club is growing daily."
