This generation of pickup is more popular than ever these days. They are good looking, capable, nice driving trucks. This one is ready to head out on the town in its fresh red paint, or ready to get the job done with a very healthy motor and protective bedliner. Cardinal Red is the factory correct color that this truck and it shines like new after being professionally refreshed. Chevy tried to call this body style the "rounded... line" series, but fans called it a "box body" or "square body" design, and that is the name that stuck. Regardless of the name, right about now you are probably noticing that this truck doesn't look like a 1977. The restorer used a 1987 front grille and trim to really keep you guessing. Up front an eggcrate grill is flanked by quad rectangular headlights and is underlined by a sharp looking chrome bumper. Chrome also dresses out the wheel wells and a bold band of it wraps completely around the beltline. There are fresh rubber seals around all the windows and doors and a Silverado 10 badge appears on the front fenders. Out back Pendaliner protects the bed and Chevrolet in script is featured nicely in white on the red tailgate while another fresh chrome bumper has a couple exhaust tips peeking out from underneath it. Open the door and you will find a Red cloth interior where you can cruise in comfort and style. The door panel has a nice long armrest with a silver panel trimmed with filigree holding the door pull, latch handle and window crank. The bench seat is trimmed out in soft and comfortable cloth and there is a black, four-spoke steering wheel that feels good in your hands. The shifter for the automatic transmission is mounted on the column and the dashboard behind it is dressed in brushed silver with the speedo and fuel gauge in the center and the other four engine gauges clearly visible off to the left. Ventilation controls are off to the right and include those for the updated R134 A/C system and a Pioneer FM/Cassette player is mounted just below them for your listening pleasure. Black carpeting compliments the black dashboard and ties the look of the interior together nicely. Pop the hood and you will find 383 cubic inch crate engine that is ready to rock nestled down in the engine bay. Underneath that glossy black air topper is a Holley Street Avenger 4-barrel carburetor which is feeding an Edelbrock intake manifold. Stock heads are topped by ribbed black valve covers and new belts, hoses, plugs, cap, plugs and wires insure good reliability and hot spark to fire that 383 stroker motor. The air conditioning compressor has been replaced along with the receiver dryer and charged back up with R134 freon. Dual exhaust with a balance pipe leads out to those chrome tips at the rear and help give this truck a nice healthy sound. Power flows back through a 3-speed automatic, through the transfer case, to all four wheels as needed. Solid axles both front and rear are mounted on leaf springs and power front disc brakes provide good stopping ability. BFGoodrich 31X10.50R15 Long Trail T/As mounted on 6-lug steel wheels with 4X4 center caps complete the look nicely. A great looking Box Body pickup in a fresh coat of Cardinal Red paint with a healthy 383 under the hood. This truck is ready to rock! Come on down and check it out.
