1969 Chevy El Camino, Resto-mo, Show Car TRUE FRAME OFF RESTORATION / ROTISSERIE PROCESS
1969 El Camino VIN# 136809K464924Miles: 550 miles ( 550 miles since the restoration-build process was fully completed 1 year ago )
In my opinion, if some one was in the market to purchase a turn ke, restored classic muscle carand it came down to a choice between Chevelle and El Camino......I believe the El Camino is a much better choice ( and yes, the El Camino was dubbed by GM as a Coupe utility vehicle. Not a truck). Main reason is that the El Camino is a MULTI FUNCTIONAL VEHICLE.Whether it's Car Shows (has a bed with more capacity to display items;better visual displays such as LED lights in the bed that have a very unique and attention getting aura );orfun filled weekends cruising around with plenty of "hauling capacity" on hand .One great example is NFL tail-gating parties (sports events)! The El Camino is perfect for enhancing a multitude of outdoor activities. Also, depending on what business/lifestyle you are engaged in, the El Camino is like a rolling "advertising billboard ".Lastly, if you want more " bang for the buck"....you will save $$$$ purchasing a fully restored, performance enhanced/ Resto mod El Camino over a Chevelle with the same degree of restoration/ Resto mod features.Just do some research, compare prices, and see for yourself.
Think about it, you get the best of both worlds when owning an El Camino. Its an attention getting "Street Warrior " with a vast array of useful, practical, functionalabilities.
Focusing on my 1969 El Camino ........let me begin by saying thatthis stunning 1969 El Camino Resto mod is an amazing, beautiful, head-turning muscle car infused with a "Fast & Furious" attitude! I consider this El Camino to be a very well executed Show Car that's as impressive on the road as it is in the parking lot! Driving it can best be described as a, " Grin inducing experience!"The sound....the feeling at idle.....the relentless surge of torqueas you press the responsive accelerator pedal down......RPM's increase with aggressive horsepower unveiling....all complimented by the melody of crisp, deap exhaust notesresonating from the Magnaflow exhaust system.
This particular El Camino falls under the Resto-mod category of customized/performance enhanced classic cars. Not only does it have updated interior features but also modern performance modifications that elevate its overall performance /driving capabilities ( significantly better than stock).
Literally, my 1969 El Camino has undergone a complete metamorphosis. An enormous amount of time and money (along with meticulous detail) was invested in its complete restoration/ upgrade process. Over $70k invested in just the restoration/performance upgrades alone. I kept all receipts/documentation tucked away in a folder which is included in the sale.
Why am I selling?Approximately 6 years ago, a Business marketing plan evolved which involved my' 69 El Camino being utilized as a local Business "advertising tool". To get the ball rolling, a complete transformation of the El Camino was necessary in order to transform it from a typical factory/stock (primitive) Classic Car into a more modern andsophisticated, attention getting High Performance Machine. In essence, the goal was to create a unique and stunning outward appearance combined with an adrenaline - inducin, "Resto mod Monster" with an ominous /intimidating attitude.
The final results (finished Product) of the Resto mod Build exceeded all expectations. After all the blood, sweat, and tears were shed, this amazing Resto- mod El Camino finally evolved into a mobile "Attention Magnet", covered with Car Show winning qualities.I'd also like to mention...... a key ingredient that complimented the extensive Restoration/ Build process was some S.E.M.A. inspiration. In my opinion, the modern day performance enhancements/ handling upgrades are my favorite characteristics of this new and improved Ride.
Unfortunately, the "advertising tool " idea never materialized because theBusiness was sold just after my El Camino was completed. Like a domino effect, future plans changed across the board.I am also very busy with extensive remodeling projects in my current home ( interior and also backyard patio/landscape projects). Thus, the reason I am now selling.
Moving forward, I will do my best to list all of the marvelous features/details, professional work and performance enhancements involved in the Build Process. Starting with the Professional Frame - off Restoration.Keep in mind, I put together a very extensive and detailed El Camino receipt file/folder containing a much more detailed list of parts & materials receipts, records, & pertinent documentation .Again, this folder is included in the sale of my El Camino.
First of all, it is important to mention that prior to the restoration process, my El Camino was a very solid vehicle with minimal rust on the body and or rocker panels. More importantly, it had a solid/accident free/unscathed frame which solidified the fact that it was an excellent candidate for an extensive and costly Resto Build process.
A true comprehensive frame off rotisserie restoration (entire body was REMOVED from the frame) was professionally performed. The frame/chassis components were cleaned via the media blasting process. The entire frame and components were primed and powder coated. All chassis nuts, bolts, bushings, hardware, brackets removed and replaced with upgraded Chassis works performance parts/hardware. All brake line, fuel lines were upgraded with all new stainless steel lines combined with stainless steel braided hoses. All suspension components were removed and replaced with a new/upgraded modern performance suspension system, such as Competition series upper and lower tubular control arm, upper and lower a-arms, control arm braces, sway bar and links, poly bushing, lowering spindles, coil overs, monroe rear shocks.Steering upgraded with items such as performance quick- ratio steering box,Fuel tank/fuel system is new (Stainless steel tank) as well as a new fuel sending unit. All nuts, bolt, bushings were removed and replaced with upgraded parts.A completely new front and rear SSBC Performance Disc Brake System with 11.25 diameter rotors (front and rear); SSBC power brake booster and prop. valve installed.A complete stainless steel Magnaflow (2.5 inch stainless steel tubing) exhaust system installed. To sum it up, the entire undercarriage is like new, looks very impressive/ Show qualityand has glaringly obvious modern/performance enhanced/ suspension upgrades across the board.
Custom wheels/tires: Front 235/45/18 Toyo Proxes4 Rear 255/35/18 Proxes 4 NOTE: all tires are still like new with Sprue Nubs (tits) still present on all tires.
Body/Paint: Professional bodywork and paint performed locally in a Custom Automotive Paint and Bodywork Shop.Bodywork consisted of some minor sheet metal repair such as eliminating the 2 holes on the exterior of tail gate (2 holes where the reverse lights on tail gate were located). Seamless metal patch work was performed on those areas !90% of the body work entailed block sanding....priming....block sanding....more priming...spraying of guide coat to ensure body panel surfaces are straight and level .Very little body filler was used in the bodywork process. 90% of all small dents/ding, imperfections were rectified via good old fashioned elbow grease. Hours upon hours of just block sanding / priming/ block sandin, applying guide coats, then more block sanding. The Process repeated over and over until straight-level body panels with straight consistent body lines were established. . After the meticulous bodywork/prep process was completed......a "Silver Max " metallic base coat (House of Kolor ) was administered to the naked body of the El Camino, as well as the engine bay areas; inside wheel housing areas ; under side of hood; radiator support areas; and throughout the bed surfaces. Also, the custom red flames were applied using a color called "Apple Red Candy" (House of Kolor product) as well as the engine bay area ( fire wall).Next, 5 layers of House of Kolor (Kosmic Urethane clear)were applied ( wet sanding was also performed in the process/ stages) to ensure a dea, reflective lustrous shine.

Lastly, I would like to emphasize how well this El Camino performs/ drives /handles. It truly is IMPRESSIVE to say the least.First of all, it is very a powerful, quick / fas, responsive Machine! If you are an adrenaline junkie, then this El Camino will mesh well with your "Need for Speed"! Brake system (front & rear performance power disk brakes : SSBC Performance brake system) are impeccable. They have tremendous stopping force .
Steering is very accurate, responsive, precise.... similar to driving a modern day Sports Car. Whether I am cruising around city streets or the open highway roads, I feel confident and in control behind the wheel of this El Camino . Especially when maneuvering through tight corners at higher speeds.
The overall ride/suspension is very well -rounded. Has tremendous stability and seems to adapt to its surrounding road conditions. For instance, very little "body roll" when maneuvering through tight "S" curves athigher speeds . When cruising down the open highway, the overall ride feels more refined, smooth, and rather/comfortable. In my opinion, this El Camino could easily embark on a long cross country journey without sacrificing comfort for the driver or passenger.
By the way, if anyone wants to see a pic of a specific area on my El Camino,I am more than happy to take the pics and email them to you, or can post them online.Whatever you prefer.
Sorry if my ad seems to be little lengthy and or repetitious, but i really wanted to be as transparent as possible when it comes to selling my beloved El Camino. I can't emphasize more how much passion, love, visio, enthusiasm, determinatio, and of course money was poured into her.
My loss is your gain.
It is jut as important for me to see my El Camino go to a good homewith a new owner that truly understands and or appreciates the magnitude ofwork/attention /time/money invested into this unique, awesome Ride.I have a clean, clear/ lien free Indiana title to my El Camino.I encourage all potential bidders/ buyers to ask questions prior to bidding.
