Car description

Here is a 1969 Chevelle SS 396. This car has been in storage probably since the early 90's. I bought it, we put a new fuel pump, new points and I am pumping gas out of a small gas can sitting under the hood. I did not want to pump out of the tank and take a chance of getting old gas or debris from the tank. The gas in the tank don't smell real old. I do believe the previous owner did go start the car every so often. This is a real SS, not a clone. I took a pic of the steering joint that shows that. This has the original 396 325 hp engine. I ran the suffix code and it shows it was for a chevelle made in the Tonawanada plant. This was a original 4 speed car. But someone removed the manual and put a th 400 transmission and ratchet shifter. The original floor console is missing and I don't have it. The pedals are there still. Clutch pedal is there. The car will need a brake job, it don't have any brake pressure at all. Someone installed a small key switch on the bottom of the dash. Apparently the ignition switch in the column is broken. This still has polyglass bias tires with good tread. But they need switched out for some new radials. The car does have body feeler in it. The bottom of the fenders have bondo, the drivers side is way worse then the passenger side. Both rear quarters has body feeler. On the passenger side worse then the drivers side. The wheel well is cracking out. Underside looks pretty good on the car. Frame looks real good. Floors look good. Trunk floor is not rusted out. But you can see someone has a drilled a couple small holes for a fuel line and filter. So I figured they was having a problem with getting rust or dirt from the tank. Drivers seat bottom is ripped. This has factory high back bucket seats. Engine runs good. 396 has some rocker arm / lifter clatter mostly on the passenger side. The engine needs ran. I have let it run maybe 30 mins and it sounds better then what it first did. But you can still hear it. Hydraulic lifters just are dried out and not pumping up real good. I have a good state of Indiana title in my business name. I just sent the title in last week and just got it back today. I want a small $250. deposit within 24hrs of the end of the auction. And I want paid within full within 7 days of the end of the auction NO IFS AND OR BUTS ABOUT IT. You can pay me with cash, money order, cashiers check, or WU transfer. I will not release the car until I am 100% percent the funds have cleared are good. There are way to many scams out there and I am not taking a chance of getting a fake check or something. If you have any questions call or text 1-765-546-2642. Or if you would like to come and take a look you are more then welcome. If you are having it shipped that is all up to you. I can assist in getting to back of your shippers trailer.
