Fleetmaster Club Coupe model. I've owned it since 1981. My father and son project. Intended to be a period race car, I never finished it and will likely never have time. Everything done to the car was accomplished in the 80's and mid 90's. In keeping with the period, while adding some modern reliability, the engine is 327ci-4 1/8+ .060' over bore, '50s GMC 302 truck 6 (not military block), Chevy 292 Mallory duel point conversion, aluminum 2 piece valve cover and tappet cover, aluminum trans adapter (If you know anything about Inliners International, these parts were made buy a guy named Charlie Baker back in the early 80's, one of the original club founders. He made just a handful of these parts so they're rare as hell. Clifford intake w/4010 Holley 600, head has sbc valves 1.94/1.60s and milled .125", Isky E2 cam and pushrods, Fenton headers w/duel exhaust. Makes about 250 horse. Built TH400 ready for the strip less a higher stall converter, will hold manual 1,2 shifts. '72 GM 10 bolt with3:73, Genie Shifter tall stalk, suspension and brakes still stock, older CoachWorks interior in great shape, can use a headliner and carpet, wiring is new, unfinished custom dash, needs a modern steering column-still stock. 4 point retractable racing belts. New glass. Rear glass original. Wheels and tires were just something cheap I thru on it to make it roll. They aren't pretty. Didn't get around to theNova front clip it could use. I couldn't get the caster high enough as to not make it scary as hell over 100. All front end bushings and steering rod ends are new.Hydraulics and shoes are new. Car was a Virginia farm field find, frame up redux. Car had no chrome or dash parts, but it ran. Body was solid, just had surface rust. No signs of it ever being in a wreck. There is a very small amount of surface fuzz underneath from sitting, and the truck is still in primer, some surface rust. We had the frame and body dipped originally and the under paint work wasn't finished. Been kept in dry storage for about eight years. Everything works, less the not installed wipers and fuel gauge; I just replaced the sender and it stays on full. Might have gotten a bum one. Unplugging it drops the gauge. No way to short the sensor terminal so, dunno. Acts like it shorted to ground and I don't have time to pull the tank again, and a rotten elbow. Everything is not finished and too much to list here for jobs. It's a running drivable project. Boxes of parts, fasteners, trim bits, spare head and crank, pan and rocker set. Period speed and repair manuals, receipts, set of NOS stainless rocker moldings. Has 4000 miles on the new gauges and car since putting it back together. Went to a car show a few years ago then had to park it. Best drag pass was a very low15sec. Plan was to add a 9" and 4:11 but my brother ran off with my axle.Car is drivable, went out last weekend with Pops for a joy ride and leave some rubber. ***Engine is a little clattery, cold, due to a machining error- the idiot who bored it only mic'd one piston and used that for the whole set. #4 has some sloppy skirt clearance and until it warms up it sounds like a diesel. It's run the 4000 miles that way including racing. That was the other plan that never happened. Sleeve it and change pistons to something much higher compression. It's about 9:1. In the 80's you couldn't get anything but racing fuel where we lived. Pump gas was crap. Paint/s needs a do over; exterior is old Centari with a urethane hardener. Inside trim and dash are all lacquer. Inside paint has started peeling. Outside has some garage scrapes. Car was also missing all the bright work so the body is smooth. Outside handles and bumpers painted to match. At the time without the internet and vendors, no one had repo chrome. Plenty of it now. I do have the paint code info if you want same blue. If you're looking for a period rod with a few modern touches, here's a good chalk board for some who will finish it.
