Please no trade offers I have kids and bills to pay. This ad is for a Pro Street 1966 Chevelle 300 Deluxe that has a chassis that is designed to hold up to the extreme power of the engine. All of the fabrication work was done professionally. There is no way to list all of the insane upgrades to this car. To start. I have had it for 17 years and poured thousands of dollars into it making sure it was done safe and right. This car has always been garaged with a cover on it. The engine. trans and drive trane really only have about 150 tuning/road/break in miles on them (not track). The $18k 540 BBC engine has "all new" top of the line parts including Dart Big M block. AFR heads. Isky red zone lifters. Jesel shaft rockers. The engine was dyno tuned by Rick Waters Racing in Phoenix and produced 740HP 680 torque on pump gas at 6200 RPM. The engine since it was Dyno Tuned has the rev limiter set at 6000 RPM and as mentioned above has no reason to rev through the roof to produce maximum power. The rear Strange nodular 9" center section has a huge 35 spline Detroit locker in it so you can drive this car on the street without skidding around turns and causing a scene (like with a spool). The RPM's at 65 MPH are around 2300 so it's not screaming when driving down the road. The car has a 10 point roll cage with driver and passenger cam lock 5 point harnesses. The frame is boxed with roll cage welded to it and the drive shaft tunnel has been fabricated and trussed in 5 locations connecting the body cross members as seen in the pictures. Most tunnels are just half round circles without trussing. The tunnel is tall as seen in the interior pictures so the car can be lowered as much as you want. The transmission also has tons of clearance because the tunnel goes all the way to the front. The back half is all Chris Alston Chassis works. The rear housing is a 4 link Fab 9 and the Strange Pro nodular center section has a Detroit locker. 35 spline Strange axles with 4:10 ratio. The rear brakes are Wilwood pro street duel piston calipers with extra thick rotors. Both front and back suspension have adjustable coil overs. The rear tires are pretty much the widest Mickey Thompson 15" slick made - I was sick of always loosing traction. The transmission is a professionally built Turbo 400 with Cheeta valve body and is manual shift with a 3500 stall converter. The front end has a manual steering gear box and boxed lower control arms. All of the front bushings and joints have been done and are Moog. The front brakes are duel piston from a Corvette which use huge rotors. There is a transmission cooler in front of aluminum radiator as well as a pusher electric fan that sits behind the grill. The switch for it is where the front license plate bolts are-see pic. The interior is all black- carpet. headliner. door panels etc. The floor has been sealed. Rhino lined and has pad beneath carpet to reduce noise. The shifter is a hurst pistol grip with trigger that activates the front brake lock for burn outs. I just recently bought a Dakota digital instrument cluster so that this expensive engine has correct readings and you know how fast you are going down the road. Look up Dakota Digital for a 66 Chevelle and you will see that its capabilities are endless- $750 very well spent. There is also an air fuel mixture gauge in the middle of the dash that tells you how perfect this thing is tuned throughout the RPM's. I am pretty sure 1966 is smog exempt so you can drive this on the street with appropriate tires if you choose - even in California. I am selling because I have too many hobbies. they closed our favorite track and I cant justify doing this instead of spending time with my kids. To do this car over again would cost over $50. 00 so realize it's listed for half of what I have into it and most everything is like new/barely used. This car always starts right up. drives straight down the road. is insanely fast and stops easily. "Body has a few small scratches on right rear tail bezel and on side of hood and paint sag underneath sticker on driver side fender otherwise in great condition. There is no heater or glove box- space is occupied by electronics and shaving unnecessary items from car. "There will be no joy rides. this is a race car and requires someone who has money to maintain it and is responsible. You can literally be casually driving this thing down the road and stomp on it and boil these huge 33x17x15 slicks on the street. "Please keep in mind that this is a race car meant to go fast in a straight line and has required maintence and necessity for someone that is mechanically inclined. " This car is not set up to drive thousands of miles. It needs to be tweaked regularily and set up for different track conditions so you need to know what you are doing. This car is sold as is and I assume no responsibiliy for it once it leaves my posession. I have no ability to ship. buyer has to set up all transport costs and pick up. Good luck!!!Feel Free to ask questions.
