Car description

The introduction of the first in the line of what we now know as the "tri-fives" was a revolution the likes of which we will likely never experience again. They persist to this day in their popularity and desirability.

The first post-war refresh was revolutionary and a long time coming as the previous design had persisted since 1940. The debut of the now internationally recognized iconic body lines and the versatility of the chassis design to allow enthusiasts to build them to their individual tastes makes this 3-year run of Chevrolet's particularly special to the collector and Hot Rod community. These facts have cemented its place in history as one of the cars that made America. This generation is so beloved that over the years that an international following has ballooned and hot-rodders from all over the planet have had created another resurgence and cult following just as it originally occurred for us here in the United States.

Holding such a special place in the hearts of Americans comes with so much history and including many "firsts" such as Chevrolet's of the "small block" overhead valve V8, the design of which continues to this day as the first choice for most builders even of non Chevrolet vehicles! Other notable features included the wraparound one-piece front windshield and the Ferrari-inspired egg-crate grill.

This example is a Bel Air 2 door Sedan that began life as any of the 1.8 million that were built for the model year. In current form, the car features an exterior finish inspired by the factory original color scheme with a touch modern by incorporating a remarkably fine pearl within the blue. It has undergone a frame-off restoration process that was documented at each step. An extensive evidence manual is with the car which includes over 80 pictures, components lists, invoices and records of the recent refresh performed to ensure it continues to be a safe, comfortable and reliable driver's car.

Featuring a GMPP 350 H.O. 330HP engine backed by a 700R4 auto and ~2500 stall convertor, 9-inch rear with 3.55 posi, this one drives extremely well and also easy to care for! Also features Vintage air and heat, reduced radius vintage style steering wheel, stock style front suspension, power steering, power brakes with bigger Chevelle style discs and drop spindles from Lokar, Raingear wiper/washer control, Spal radiator fan, Holly carb, MSD distributor/ignition, powermaster alternator all new wiring harness, steering linkage, March serpentine belt system, aluminum radiator, even the bench seat relocator kit for a bit more legroom! All documentation, p.o.'s, receipts, manuals and pictures are together in a nicely organized 3" binder which will be included with the car.

The vehicle has an immaculate undercarriage. From the chassis to the interior features and wiring as well as the powertrain, this is a superb example of love for the brand, attention to detail and proper setup to take it out on the road for frequent enjoyment!
