Car description

1973 Chevy Monte Carlo S 454. Canadian built, original big block car. Has a non-original 454 engine in it. Doesn't run, and idk what it needs, as I didn't install it, never heard it run, and never tried to do anything with it. Turbo 400, tach, gauges, rally wheels, 2.73 Posi. Currently has non original 8 inch rally wheels. The car has 95,802.3 miles. Original owner was born in 1912, and his friend Lyman Alley (born in 1908) bought it from his estate in the late 1980's. No title, as VT doesn't issue titles for vehicles this old. New VT registration can be acquired, which, along with the bill of sale should satisfy your state requirements to get a title. I recently found out about Vintage Vehicles Services Inc. in Oshawa, ON, and they have all of the documentation available (haven't ordered it yet). I have spoken to George on the phone, and he looked up my vin, and he verified that he has a ton of factory info on this car (options ordered, production totals-including how many were built with the 454, where the car was sold new, etc). Included in the sale are all of the factory installed, original parts that I have: standard bore #3999289 block (Pad: T0109 CWB 131459635), 049 heads, crank, rods, pistons, air cleaner, flexplate, oil pan, and other parts. Engine parts all look fine for rebuilding (was not blown up, knocking, overheating, etc). Car was running and driving great (2003?), and then the cam bearings were found to be somewhat flaky and pitted during a cam swap operation (for more power), so engine was torn down years ago for a full rebuild that just never happened. Also included is an NOS RF fender extension. Some typical rust. Needs passenger compartment floor work, quarter panel work around the wheel wells, lower fenders, etc. Some roof rust, but not horrible. RF fender is dented. No winters or salt to my knowledge. Frame looks to be solid, with no rust holes, and no majorly flaky rust, but the rear most cross rail (by the rear bumper) is thin and rough on the back lower edge (I have seen a lot worse- it's a typical issue with the 73, one year only frame design - even with southern cars). Car was Tuff-Kote" undercoated when new. One repaint in the 1980's. Relatively speaking, very few big block Monte Carlo's, Chevelle's, Nova's, Impala's, other full size, and trucks were built in Canada. Shipping is responsibility of the buyer, but I will work with your shipper to help load. Non-op roller. Sold as is. Payment by certified bank check, or cash in person. If you need time to come get the car, that is fine. As long as it is fully paid for in advance, she can stay here till October if need be. Would prefer buyer to come pick up themselves and pay in cash, but we'll make it work regardless. I've shipped a couple "non-ops" before, and it all went fine. Picture in parking lot with Firebird in background was taken in 2001. All other pictures are current, or taken last fall. Still have snow to deal with, but hopefully it will be gone soon. Thank You. Dave
