1946 Chevy COE (cab over engine), extremely solid and dry texas truck. I purchased it with plans to build a car hauler, but business forces sale. This was an oil field truck back in the day and the bed was built for working the oil rigs.THE GOOD: VERY heavy diamond plate bed with large gin pole crane set up. Everything folds down and hides out of the way when not needed. Has 10,000 lb winch, air tank (no compressor), tool box, hideaway gooseneck hitch, bumper pull hitch, slide out tool drawer, two large gas tanks, original HEAVY 2 speed rear, and now for the good part: very low mile Chevy big block 454 mounted behind the cab with a brand new 700R4 overdrive trans built to handle the weight of the truck (corvette servos, larger clutches, etc), new Lokar shifter and custom shift cable, new Lokar gas pedal, COMPLETE new braking system: new master cylinder, new power booster, all brake lines and hoses are new, proportioning valve is new, drums new, shoes are new, backing plates have all been rebuilt (new wheel cylinders, springs, etc). All exhaust is new including exhaust manifolds. Front tires are brand new, rear are older but have like-new tread and are not showing any aging/cracking. Bench seat has blue/gray velour and is in good condition. I have a brand new gauge panel with Stewart Warner wings gauges included, just not installed yet. All lights work as should, truck starts right up and drives great. 80mph down the freeway is no problem at all.THE BAD: Passenger side windshield glass is cracked (flat glass, very easy to get), gauges are currently out as I have not installed the new gauge panel yet (new gauge panel with brand new Stewart Warner wings style gauges), original suspension and front end so it's a bumpy ride, some of the radiator hoses are leaking a little at the clamps and need to be addressed, needs carpet or a floor mat. Wiper motor works and switches on when you turn the switch, but doesn't have a wiper arm mounted to the post. Heater motor works but heater is bypassed, assume it's a leaky heater core.SUMMARY: This is a solid truck I just put $10k into to make road worthy. It fires right up and is a blast to drive. The big block gives this truck tons of power even though it's extremely heavy. LOTS of potential, or drive it as is. It's fun to stop at a light and look down on the big lifted F-350s next to you. Clean title in hand. Thank you.
