The C3 Corvette is the longest running, perhaps most frequently redesigned iterations of an American icon. From 1968 to 1982, the Corvette received a variety of subtle facelifts and styling changes that eventually made the first and final years entirely different cars. Because of this, it is very easy to have a specific C3 Corvette year preference. 1973 is a unique and often preferred year, as it was the last year of the chrome rear bumpers and also the first...for the plastic front bumpers. This gives the '73 a unique blend of styling and allows it to act as the transition year Corvette for the early and later models. This particular example is excellent, preserved (note: not restored) condition. Though it has seen some paint work in the past, it is in mostly original condition. The exterior is clean and straight, with a few minor blemishes that validate the paint as older work. This is an attractive car that is an eye-catcher without being too flashy! The interior is perhaps the most impressively preserved portion of the vehicle. The seats are original material, and show extremely minimal wear given the age of the car. Anyone who has spent time in both restored and survivor cars can certainly vouch that there is a different feel between the two. A survivor car just has that "old car feel" to it that many restored vehicles, no matter how accurately done, simply cannot seem to recapture. As a whole, the interior is in excellent original condition and can be enjoyed as-is. The odometer reads 26,228 miles and the owner believes this to be accurate. Though it is not documented original mileage, the condition of the interior alone is enough to be convincing. Under the hood is a Chevrolet 454 V8. This is believed to be the correct, numbers-matching engine for this car. This alone adds great value and collectability to this vehicle, and also adds some evidence for the mileage claim. This engine runs great, and pulls a car this size with ease! There will be no desire for a more powerful engine with the 454 under the hood; this Corvette is properly balanced and is very agile. Navigating this car in tight spaces is a breeze, even with that big 454! The current owner of this Corvette has had it for over 10 years, and plenty of paperwork and documentation is included with the sale to give a rough timeline of ownership. Documents include original owner's manual, copies of old titles, old registration cards, an original 1973 Corvette brochure, the original shipping/order receipt from the dealer by which is was sold new, and more. This is a very nicely preserved partial survivor that needs nothing but a new home! Contact Shelton Classics & Performance at 877-496-5680 or for more information TITLE: CLEAN DOES IT WORK?
