This Pace Car is 6323 of the 6502 produced for the 1978 model year, has 32,000 miles andhas been with me since 2014. It's powered by the factory L48 paired with the 3-speed automatic transmission. Work under my ownership includes the installation of a new carburetor and an air conditioning service as well as a regular oil changes with Valvoline VR1. The original carb was kept and will be included. Also included is an owner's manual, documentation including a build sheet, and a clean Alaska title in my name.
Themirrored glass T-tops are fitted and in perfect condition and the factory storage bags are included. The original paint has the chips, cracks, and webbing in the paint that you would expect from 40 year old factory paint. It presents very well and has good shine, but upon close inspection the imperfections are apparent as are some bonding strip locations. The photosincluded are an excellent representation of what the paint looks like and the car always gets great compliments. The factory slotted aluminum 15″ wheels with red striping are mounted with white-letter BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires showing 2014 date codes which I had installed upon purchase - both are in excellent condition and the tires only have 1,000 miles on them.
The silver leather and interior looks great and has some typical wear of the age. The factory 8-track player and radio are operable as is the power antenna. The clock is inoperable, and the cruise control continues to accelerate once set. I replaced the control box but the issue is still there so I believe it's a vacuum leak which I haven't been able to locate yet. A slight transmission leak worsens when the car sits too much but when the car is driven regularly is minimized. Everything else works well.
The air conditioning system was serviced in 2016 and has continued to blow very cold since. At some point in the cars life a true-dual exhaust system was installed and sounds very throaty, but does have a slight exhaust leak at one of the joints underneath. The car drives and runs out very well. The undercarriage is in very good condition and the original spare is underneath and looks to have never been installed.
