It's not very often that you come across such an exceptional combination of mid-'60s curb appeal and modern functionality. This 1965 Chevrolet Impala Restomod is only a few hundred miles off its build and offers an array of top-tier components and features that make it awesome to behold and a dream to drive. This is one outstanding looking classic. The Impala underwent a pretty thorough restoration the year this beauty came out, and it was a decided home run that resulted in what was then an all-time sales record. It's a stouter, more aggressive looking ride than its predecessors, and the color combo it now carries - bright red paint that provides a great backdrop for its nicely scooped black hood and rocker panels - really does it proud. Chevy at the same time added a more aggressive front grille to the Impala, and the one you'll see here is a great example of just how effective its redesign efforts were. No matter where you look, you'll find trim and badging that's all in fine form - unlike so many modded classics, it looks like a lot of care was taken to preserve the identity of this true boulevard aristocrat as it underwent its transformation ... and it's a refreshing take for sure. In less forgiving weather, a power black convertible top is at your disposal for protection - it raises into place without issue and sports an impressively clear glass rear window. There's plenty more craftsmanship on display inside the doors. A pair of modern-issue power bucket seats - featuring a mixture of leather and suede - take center stage and blend in really well with the rest of the interior. In between them sits a similarly modern center console that offers some welcome storage space, a couple of cupholders and a great setting for the pistol grip B&M shifter sitting toward the front. Just in front of the Grant steering wheel, you'll see that the dash area, like many other elements on this car, offers a smooth blend of new and vintage elements, with an assortment of Dakota Digital gauges sitting in the instrument cluster right next to a retro-styled AM/FM head unit with Bluetooth connectivity that controls the set of speakers inside. Other comfort features include air conditioning, a tilt column and power windows. It's quite a sight when you raise the deck lid in back and view the DB drive subwoofers sitting on either side of the Air Ride pod that powers this classic's upscale suspension. With the high bar set by the rest of the car, it would be only natural to expect a dazzling array of mechanical features to be on hand, as well. Consider those expectations met. A 6-liter LS2 V8 sits under the hood - a healthy-sized, fuel injected engine good for 400 horsepower that teams with the 4-speed automatic 4L60E overdrive transmission to make up a versatile drivetrain that excels both as far as off the line acceleration and low, engine-sparing revs at highway speeds. With 3" exhausts running from front to back, you can only imagine the resonance of the exhaust note. The high-end aftermarket suspension is every bit as impressive, with tubular control arms sitting up front, a 4-link suspension in back and Air-Ride components at all four corners. Four-wheel power disc brakes provide dependable, fade-resistant stopping power, and smooth power steering makes handling this exceptional Chevy a low-effort affair as it rules the road on a set of 18" Nitto Extreme tires. This 1965 Chevrolet Impala Restomod is one truly impressive example of aftermarket craftsmanship taking a true classic's game to a new level. Call today!
