Car description |
---|
Uniquely desirable on any level, this 1963 Corvette Sting Ray coupe was the first year of the classic C2 body style as well as a limited one-year-only production of the legendary"split window"double rear window. (Subsequent years have a single, full-width rear window.) This survivor is one of only 10,594 units ever produced. Overall this an excellent representation of factory design, fit and function.
The original 1963 Sting Ray coupe is considered to be one of the most collectible Corvettes of all time because of its unique split rear window design. Surprisingly, many split-window coupes were modified by customizers, some of whom replaced the two smaller individual panes of glass with a one-piece window made of Plexi-glass. Even more shocking is that Chevrolet began offering replacement one-piece windows through its dealerships! As a result, a good many 1963 Corvette coupes lost a considerable amount of their collector value by removing its unique "split window" design feature.
I regretfully list this car for sale, as it has been a cherished road companion for almost 30 years. It is a delightful car to drive, turning heads and soliciting admiring comments/interest wherever I travel. Its' clean, tidy, and ready to go for use as the ultimate "weekend driverâ€. However, in its current condition it's also an excellent candidate for either a full frame-off show restoration OR base for a hot rod/custom modification project. (I'll leave that to another man/woman's vision & desire!)
Don't let this opportunity to own one of the most iconic and recognizable Corvettes ever built slip away!
Please make certain to ask any/all questions, as well as have all funds ready/available prior to bidding on this beauty.
