It is difficult to convey in words and photos have truly great this car really is. It is exceptionally rare to find an L82 model with a manual transmission, let alone an example with such low miles and in such amazing original condition. This car is by far one of the nicest 1979 Corvettes on the market and truly an investment grade C3. The car looks beautiful, runs great, and drives awesome. Everything on the car works including the a/c. The C3 Corvettes been steadily increasing in value for the past few years and is an excellent investment. This Corvette would be an excellent candidate for a Survivor or Bloomington Gold award.
The car in finished in the beautiful and highly desirable color combination of Hilton Brown Metallic (67) over Doeskin Leather (592). This is the correct and original color scheme as verified by the codes on the trim tag and the original build sheet both pictured below. Please peruse all of the photos, video, list of numbers, and other information below to get a true sense of clean, correct, and excellent this Corvette really is.
There is a wealth of original documentation that comes with this L82 Corvette. Most importantly the original build sheet in excellent legible condition is included with the car, which verifies all of the rare and important options. Also included is the "dealer copy," which also verifies the options, a portion of the original window sticker, the original owner's manual, warranty booklet showing the original owner's name, tire pamphlet, 1979 Chevrolet Consumer Information booklet, GM continuous Protection Plan, new vehicle inspection sheet from October 1979, and an original 1979 Corvette brochure from GM.
An appraisal from 1990 shows that the car had 14,140 miles at the time. There is also a copy of a previous title and an odometer statement from 1994 showing that the car has 16,674 miles at that time, which are more great verifications of the low original mileage. There are oil change stickers included with the car showing that in January of 1981 the car had 3.106 miles and in January of 1982 the car had 7,583 miles.
In additional to all the the great original paperwork and documentation there are dozens of receipts for maintenance over the years which are pictured below. These receipts total over $5,000.
This Corvette is completely "Numbers Matching" and literally every part we checked on the car is correct with the proper part numbers and appropriate date codes. We have run the numbers on hundreds of Corvettes and there are very few that are so correct and original. Even very detailed parts like the starter, alternator, and even the date codes on all the windows are correct. The last six digits of the VIN are stamped on the engine pad, which is pictured below, and the engine is original to the car. The transmission is also original with the last six digits of the VIN stamped on the main case and pictured below. This Corvette is verified as an original and correct L82 model by the fifth digit of the VIN. This car has an "4" in the fifth digit indicating it is an L82 while a base L48 has an "8" in that spot.
As a side note, this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette, just give us a call.
