For Sale by Owner: 1978 Corvette 25th Silver Anniversary Edition Coupe. I bought this car a couple years ago as a non running car with a cracked block motor. It had been sitting for many years not running. This car was born new from GM with an L48 RPO 350 Engine and Turbo Hydromatic Transmission. It now has a North Carolina Nascar Engine Builder Built 406 Cubic Inch Stroker Aluminum Head Small Block Chevy Powerplant boosting 495 Horsepower that has less than 2,000 miles since installed,JUST BROKE IN. On top of this it has an 850 CFM Double Pump Dual Line Holley Carb,Performer Edelbrock Polished Intake manifold,Mallory Ignition, and Hooker Headers all brand new. From a dead stop against the brakes slightly it will smoke the NEW 255/60/15 B.F.Goodrich Radials, from a romp on the throttle thru first gear into second shift. It has a very nice rumpty-rum cam and roller rockers, just a nice tone thru magna flow oem style exhaust. It still rides on the factory aluminum wheels, still has the factory A/C componets hooked up but with newly reman A/C compressor, however never filled the system or converted it to 134 refridgerant. The car also Sports GM Original Glass T-Top panels/not after market knock offs and GM OEM Front and Rear Spoilers that were available on the Pace Car model in 1978,just a nice added touch. All instrumentation works properly except for the clock, and the cruise control is not hooked up. t still is also sporting the original AM/FM 8 Track Stereo Radio (which plays fine) but does need the antenna mast cord/cable replaced which is unplugged an needs replaced to work automatically. The car drives down the road very straight no wonder, could probably have the rear end aligned yet, never had any alignment done on the car since I got the new motor installed. If you choose to bid on this car I encourage you to come look the car over first before placing a bid. The paint on this car on a scale from 1-10 is a strong 7+. It is not the original paint job and I have no idea when it was repainted but it is in overall good shape, no cracking, a few small stone chips though, and is very good driver condition for a 40 year old car. Same with the interior, the passenger seat cover has been replace, the driver cover is original, and i do have a new cover for it but I don't think it needs installed and they match very well, the carpets, door panels, other is completely original in in decent shape/above average anyway.Power windows work and seal well, the driver side window is slower than the passenger side, same way with the headlight buckets work fine, driver side alittle slower than passenger side.If you have any questions please contact me before bidding, I will answer the best I can about anything that i have done to the car,if you are seriously considering purchasing the very quick street Vette.
