This 1966 Chevrolet Biscayne (chassis154116D124869) looks pretty unassuming in freshSandalwood Tan, though underneath the snoozy interior it's hiding a454 ci (454 bored .30 over) V8 backed by a Muncie 4-speed, 373 12-bolt rear end and power front discs. Inside the color-coordinated and bench-equipped cabin, a floor shifter and column-mounted tach are the only deviations from grandma spec, and overall the car presents very well throughout. This one looks like a very well done sleeper, and excluding wide rear rubber and what's sure to be a mean lope from the exhaust, there's very little to give it away
Chevrolet's full-size line was extremely popular throughout the 1960's with the top-rung Impala garnering most of the attention. That said, if you knew how to work an option sheet and you were looking to go fast in a straight line, a de-contented Biscayne or Bel Air might just get you to the finish line faster. Paint, trim and chrome all look excellent on this two-door sedan, and we appreciate the subtle V8 fender badges rather than the 396 style ones.
For those in the know 50 years ago, these fixed B-pillar cars boasted extra stiffness, relatively light weight (~3800 pounds) and excellent weight transfer thanks to large rear overhang.Sandalwood Tanis just about the snooziest color in the Chevrolet catalog even when it's this shiny. Chrome and trim all look great while blackwalls, steelies and caps are practically required here.
The correctFawninterior is huge, comfortable looking and in very good shape. Beyond a comfy bench and heat, creature comforts are thin so don't even ask about A/C or a radio. Functioning factory gauges have been augmented by an aftermarket trio hanging under the dash and a tachometer that's hose-clamped to the steering column
Nestled in the huge engine bay is an overbored 454 that's been backdated to look like a period 375-horse 396. Power numbers are a mystery, but even a mild build should be good for more than 400 HP and lots of low-down torque. Twist is passed to a Muncie 4-speed and a 12-bolt rear end.any questions call mark 8472695277
