Car description |
---|
This car has an interesting story that I have pieced together based on the paperwork that came with the car. It was purchased by a member of the Armed Forces on Sept 20, 1991. The car was originally from the Virginia but the owner had plans to drive it all around the country to what ever base he was stationed at. So he proceeded to build a pretty radical car for the time. A 70's 400 small block was the base for the engine. And then sent it to be build by a company in California with World Heads,Crane Cam,Arrow Crank and Hastings Bearings,Total Seal Piston Rings, Canton Oil pan, and then the engine was fitted with Holley Pro-Jection Fuel Injection, MSD Ignition, Mallory Distributor, and then it was hooked up to a rebuilt 70's Turbo 350 with a Vmatic shifter, the Brakes were upgraded to GM Power Disc 5 lug in the front along with a newer 5 lug 10 bolt rearend. Headers, and dual exhaust finished the package. The servicemen did tours all over the country and drove the car everywhere for 10 years including Alaska of which there is a Title for the car. At the end of the journey the car ended up in Maine mid 2000's. The car was sold in 2018 the car had sat for a few years and it needed freshing up. After being driven many miles and the sitting the Fuel Injection unit was not running right so it was removed and replaced with a Edlebrock 4 barrel Carb, New Fuel Tank, and Spark plugs. Also just installed new Calipers, Pads, Proportioning Valve, Brake lines, Transmission service, Trans Mount, Oil Pan gasket, Rear Main seal, Starter, Upper and Lower Ball Joints, and Front Shocks. The car runs well, the lights, wipers, turn signals all work. All the glass is good including the rear tailgate glass and crank. The undercarriage is solid floors and unibody frame is all very good. All the inner and outer rockers are solid along with all the doors. The only body rot is in the bottoms of the rear quarters and the spare tire well. The car comes with two sets of wheels stock steel with dog dish caps or SS caps, and a set of 4 Old school Mag Wheels. Plus extra parts such as a heater box as the original has rusted out on the bottom. Extra tail lights, interior trim, and Traction Bars. This could be a great fun car for Nostalgia Racing or just cruising. I have too many projects and not enough money so one has to go but I won't sell it too cheap. If it doesn't sell for a fair price I will keep it and take it to the next level in the spring. Thanks if you have questions call me, Tony
