Car description |
---|
This beautiful Aztec Copper Corvette was body-off restored in the late 1990s. It would be the top of the line engine option in 1956 with the Duntov hi-lift camshaft dual-quad carburetor options. This car was meticulously restored to a very high standard and was a former show car now showing only 1,474 miles in the past 19 years. Previous owner had the car for eleven years and and I have been caretaker for the past six years. Always garage kept, the only repairs that were necessary in my ownership were replacing the wheel cylinders, brake hoses and brake shoes to make sure the car stops straight as an arrow. I also replaced the leather diaphragms in the accelerator carburetor pumps. The panel fit on this car is superb which is difficult to find on a '56-'57 Corvette. The paint shines well and only has a few age related shortcomings that you can only see upon close inspection. Overall the paint would rate show quality, but not concours fresh. The convertible top is as new condition. The Shoreline beige interior is still in perfect condition with comfortable beautiful seats, door panels and carpet. The trunk is still show quality with it's original spare tire, lug wrench, jack and handle. All the glass is perfect and the chrome is also perfect. Included as a bonus is a very expensive period correct dealer optioned 15" teak wood steering wheel and a new old stock dealer Amco wood shift knob with porcelain Corvette emblem. Also, a storyboard with some details for the show field to sit up against the front bumper. There were only 402 Aztec Copper Corvettes in 1956.Block Pad # 0855207F56GUBlock Casting # 3720991Block Date # ll26Heads Letter "D" (two vertical bars over rectangle) on Grumpy's Porformance Chart '56 2X4 bbl.Transmission # 3845122
If you are picky about having a no-hit body with perfect panel fit, this is as good as it gets. I looked at hundreds on line and many in real life before investing in this car. The electrical wiring is absolutely perfect. Car comes with a car cover, but no auxiliary hardtop, sorry. For additional info. please call 478 957 9778.
