Car description |
---|
I purchased the car in 2011 while at the Turlock California Swap Meet. I shipped it back to Missouri and it has been stored in a warehouse for the last 7 years. In 2017 I decided to build and prepare it for the Hot Rod Power Tour Long Haul. Overall, the car is all original and was in remarkable shape with no rust due do it residing in central California but it needed to be road worthy to make the 2500 mile trip. The original 350 was replaced with a new GM performance four bolt main carbureted 350 and replaced the stock 350 transmission with a 700R4 transmission. All of the other mechanicals were completed to make it as bullet-proof as possible. The seats were reupholstered and new carpet was installed. This is a six passenger version meaning that it does not have the third seat. Originally the car was light green metallic but later someone painted it hunter green.
Due to a late start with the project, body work was completed but the car was professionally wrapped with 3M Series 1080 Black Brushed adhesive film. This way a person can keep it this way or later peel it off like a bumper sticker to paint or rewrap it to another color. The car was lowered 3 inches all around with drop coils and Coys 20 and 22 inch wheels were ordered and installed. The car has dual exhaust, PS, PB, compass/temp rearview mirror and factory AC. The factory AM radio was converted to the "Aurora Design System" so while it looks stock, it is now a high power AM/FM stereo with USB port (more info on the Aurora Design conversion can be found on YouTube). Unfortunately due to my wheels arriving late from Coys, I had to drive another car on the tour so it never made the trip.
Again this is a rust free central California car. The car runs and drives great. The original moldings are in great shape. As shown in the original picture, the right rear wheel opening /quarter had some damage which my body shop repaired prior to wrapping. Additionally they blocked the holes for the original side moldings prior to installation of adhesive side moldings that were installed later.
Things that are needed: There is a slight crease (see photo) on the driver's side rear quarter between the glass and the side molding. The upper center of the dash has a crack due to the California sun and the headliner has a small tear on the right side above the cargo area. The windshield has a mild scratch due to a bad wiper on the driver's side that is only slightly visible. The cargo floor needs refinishing. The AC works but could use a recharge next year. Kingwoods' have a lot of cool features i.e. dual swinging rear door, rear step built into the bumper and power rear window. This car even has the 1969 owner's manual. This is one of many rides and I just have too many projects and need the floor space. I am asking $16750 or best reasonable offer.
