This is a complete, MOSTLY RUST FREE, put together running project. I had all intention of finishing, except energy is in finishing my 78 one ton crew cab, and rather than the 72' sit for the next few years, I'd rather see someone get started on it and finish...... But this is a true 72' 3/4 ton 4x4 A/C th350 w/ 205 and a Dana 44 in the front and a Dana 60 in the Rear. All original except the motor. The original color is medium bronze w/ a white top. Please refer to the SPID for the list of features.
The pickup is missing the original 350 engine, but does have a very solid running 396 w/ a new carb, HEI, plugs and wires. The 396 originally came out of a 66' Chevelle (based on the stamping on the deck) but somewhere along the line the 396 must have been rebuilt, it runs to strong to be all original. The transmission seems to be slipping, not sure if it's the torq converter or possible the trans, but it does drive! Both the front and rear axles need to be resealed, the diff covers have a little leak, but other than that, they seem to be good to go. The truck fires up every time, pump it 2-3 times and turn the key. It does move under it's own power you can just feel the trans slipping.
There is very little rust in the pickup, and i mean very little! This was the a number one reason why i bought it. The passenger side front fender in the very lower front corner needs to be cut out and replaced (battery tray and inner fender as well). On the passenger side, the lower cab corner needs to be cut out and fixed. Next would be a few small areas of the passenger side rocker, i don't think the whole thing needs to be cut out and replaced, just a few little patches. The floors are dead perfect, the gutter above the front windshield is dead perfect (still has the original seem sealer in the channel) Please see the pictures, this pickup is extremely dry! I can't stress that enough. The top of the cab needs to have a few small dents pulled, something must have fallen on it at one point. Oh and it's going to need a new tail gate, this one is shot.
The one little negative is, in front the motor mount on the passenger side the frame has a slight bend in it. Talking to a buddy of mine that owns a body shop he said this is a very simple fix to straighten this very small bend out, it's very minor. i just want to be up front and honest. Please refer to the pictures, you'll see the bend just in front of the bolt on the frame. Oh and of course, someone must of thought of painting the truck yellow, so at one point the inside of the cab was repainted....
I do have few extra parts that come with the pickup. I have a perfect drivers side fender (not that it's really needed but it goes with the truck), original RV mirrors, (4) 16 inch 8 lug steel wheels, original hub caps.
I have a clean and clear title. This pickup is a solid start to a project and won't take much to get it on the road and fix as you go. i have many other pictures and videos. I am an open book and will to help arrange shipping if needed. If anyone has questions or concerns please give me a call or shoot me an email.I will require a $500 non refunded-abledeposit within 48 hrs of the sale of the truck.
Thanks Doug
