Thank you for viewing our 99 cent start, low-reserve auction for this 1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Yes, I know, everyone hates reserve auctions. The reserve is set below recent sales of similar vehicles. We are protecting our investment with a low reserve, which we are certain will be quickly exceeded by bidding. Please read this entire description as it contains extensive and important information. Yes, I know she's pretty, but let's make sure you know everything we can tell you before you bid! This is NOT a restoration but was being turned into a nice cruiser before time and financial constraints stopped the project.   Odometer reads "02600" and exceeds 5 digits and was a replacement during project. Titled mileage for this car is 106921. Car has been driven less than 15 miles since titled. This may result in a discrepancy title based upon your state laws.
This Stingray spent much of its late life as a weekend warrior. It has no evidence of having ever been wrecked, all lines are straight and none of the fiberglass had any damage beyond surface scratches. The body and bumpers are original. The glass is original but has been tinted. The doors work properly and close solidly. They need weatherstripping. Front, Side and fender emblems are original and installed. The headlights, marker lights, turn signals and brake lights all work and are OEM. The wiper motor and transmission are original and work. The car has nice aftermarket, oem-style, replacement seats. Seat belts are not installed. It has a tilt column.
Previous owner primed the car with high-quality black primer. The car was repainted with basecoat/clearcoat PPG Omni paint in red. The car has multiple layers of clear coat and has been professionally buffed. The paint looks great, with a very few minor imperfections. She glows.
The car has black Chevrolet wheels. We intended to change them, but this didn't happen during the timeframe of our project. Tires hold air but car was in storage for quite some time and they should be replaced before serious driving. A set of period Turbine-style wheels is available to the purchaser of the car for $400. They need restored but would be awesome on this car.
We do not know the build history on the engine in this car. It has a Quadrajet, in need of some adjustment, so she can be a touch hesitant to start. Once started and warmed up it runs perfectly. It is a mildly built but strong 350 V8 with block casting number 3970010, which is correct for the car, but we do not know if it is the original engine. It runs well. The car is automatic and shifts correctly. The rear end appears to be the original and functions correctly.. It has long tube headers and a full exhaust (without catalytics) with a deep, rumbly tone. It has zero smog equipment, which is how it came to us.
The suspension on the car is OEM, bushings and shocks are due for replacement to maximize handling and ride. The springs are in good shape. The rubber anti-noise pads between the rear spring leaves are original. The brakes on the car work. The pads have some life left in them. There are no emergency brake cables. The car was previously converted to a manual steering box.
The previous owner stripped the entire interior. The car has a well-fabricated custom dashboard (pictured.) We installed new, oem-style, black carpet. We purchased another 1976 Corvette Stingray with a mostly complete interior and installed interior moldings, trims, etc. It is missing the passenger side a-pillar trim, console and emergency brake cover. The interior trims are in decent, used condition. The door panels are worn but serviceable. The electric windows and switches work. The mirrored tops are aftermarket without any sign of who made them. We had a machinist friend make new mounting tabs so they would fit and lock in correctly. We also have an OEM dashboard, which is included with the car. Car has an aftermarket Pioneer CD player.. It works but is currently disconnected at the harness. It does not have a radio antenna.
The car has an OEM shifter with a new shifter cable installed. It is very sticky and appears modified. It will either be replaced before buyer takes possession or included with the car.
The car does not have heat. A heater-only heater box, fan, and heater controls are included with the car. As well as some of the under-dash ductwork.
Most used OEM parts included with the car are from another 1976 Corvette Stingray. All are from 1976-1979 Corvettes and are correct for use with this car.
Included are:
  • Heater box, 2 blower fans (one AC, one non) and controls. Heater ductwork, likely NOT complete.
  • Heater vents
  • OEM Fan Shroud. Not installed, needs to be before driven on road!
  • Dashboard panels, left and right sides, gauge pod with gauges.
  • Emergency Brake Handle
  • Shifter plate.
  • Seat belts
  • OEM Cargo Cover Tops with NEW carpet to go with them.
  • One cargo box (larger.)
  • Assorted interior trims.
  • Assorted other OEM parts and mounting hardware.

The following new in the box parts come with this also but are not pictured:
  • K5255 Stabilizer Bar Kit x 2
  • 231 universal joint x 4 (For the rear half shafts)
  • K304 control arm bushing kit
  • K5196 control arm bushing kit x 2
  • 2 ball joints
  • New Pioneer 6x9 speakers
  • New 6x9 speaker boxes

The takeaway from all of this is that you are purchasing a street cruiser project that is 90% to completion. The car is driveable in current form but needs some things finished, upgraded and installed. It is not a restoration. It is a car for you to jump in, drive around, have fun, work on with friends and family, and take to the next level, as it has amazing potential to be an exceptional car. The car has a clear title. It is sold as-is. You are welcome to inspect the car by appointment. No warranties are expressed or implied, and there is likely stuff that has been missed in this description, but not much.
