Hello EBAY Classic Corvette Enthusiasts,
Today you're bidding on a 1981 Corvette C3 Stingray. It is NO coincidence that I am starting the bid on this iconic piece of Americana on the first day of Fall, the season for which a real appreciation for lesiure travel is fully realized ...This unique specimen has been painstakenly pampered and brought to a true Driver Quality status, and is ready for your Road Trip of a Lifetime!!! This vehicle originates from Chicago Illinois, and was brought down to Dallas/Fort Worth where our family has enjoyed stewardship of it for the last 2 years. It is a registered Texas vehicle with a clean title in my name. With that introduction out of the way, let me talk about the car at hand:
What I'm selling is a real, trueDrivers Car....THIS is the car for that person who just wants to relax and take command of a truly beautiful sports car with the end result: to have a great set of memories of those days gone by, OR the days still yet to come, with (hopefully) that special someone next to them to share in the experience of motoring pleasure, in this incredible American Icon of racing and Grand Touring heritage.
The Corvette C3 Stingray is large enough to accommodate my height ( I am 6'3" or 192cm) and I still feel at home in this wonderful drivers cockpit (no lie this will have the quality of feeling like a personal jet plane, just much lower to the ground). My youngest son even finds the seating comfortable ( he is 5'6" or 168cm) and has no issues either, due to the height and length adjustable drivers side power seat, and tilt / telescopic steering wheel. This isthe Corvette I had actually wished I could own as a High School Senior, and I finally received the opportunity to do it....I trust the person who wants this specific Corvette will feel the same attachment as I have.
Since we brought the Corvette down from up North, we've restored the car and spent time doing, and undoing the required road worthiness preparationfor a vehicle that apears was in a climate controlled vault-like area.(example: replacing older OEM Goodyear Eagle GT's with new performance tires). I have ALL documentation for our work performed.
Now, with the Driver Quality restoration done, she's perfect to take out for a leisurely weekend drive through tree lined country roads, or weekday drives to work and back on the bustling expressway...either way she is willing, and able to make the journey, if you so choose. The AC blows cold and the heater blows hot, and EVERY SINGLE GAUGE DOES WORK...this is unusual for the average C3. I trust that I have represented the gauges in the following pictures listed (Corvette was running, but apologies for the glare). All of the electrical devices, and electronics work in the car including the rare, fully functional, 8-track Tape Player / Digital Tuner / CB Radio (classic early 80's experience)...BTW we will be including some of the most popular 8-Track Tapes from the 70's and 80's (all of them in fantastic shape, and purchased by me specifically for their musical impact) to make your motor touring experience as authentic & pleasurable as possible.
NOTE: All parts used in any portion of the limited restoration were NOS OEM where possible, or better than OEM, if required, to keep the car in it's purest form. We have been careful where to drive the car, and to try and drive only on the weekend, in order to preserve her, and keep the car as intact as possible for the next owner, for which that day has now arrived. The car was specifcally not dedicated to be at concours level perfection, however, in my perspective, she is the best Corvette to drive, simply just drive, whenever, and wherever you choose, which is the real reason for owning a Corvette, isn't it? Believe me when I tell you, that when you are on the road in this piece of automotive perfection of design, you WILL get noticed wherever you go (especially at the gas station), and you will receive many thumbs up from your fellow Corvette owners on the road with you.
I trust you will be as delighted owning this Corvette as I have been for these past years.
All The Best, Good Luck, and Happy Bidding!!
