1949 Chevrolet 6400 series farm truck I purchased from a farm auction in South Dakota back in 1993. This truck has a 13 foot grain/livestock box with working hoist. I had the truck repainted in 1993 and used it myself off and on but vehicle has been stored inside and not used at all for the last 16 years. Wooden box recently repainted and for it's age body is in excellent shape. There is some chipping and scratches to the paint on the body but no surface rust on the truck body other than the driver's side running board is rusted through around the area where you step to enter the vehicle but is sturdy for use. There are what I believe to be the original roadside reflectors attached to the truck box on the passenger side and what I think were some type of emergency flare canisters which have dried up through the years that are attached to the driver's side of the truck box (see photos). Truck starts and runs but the brakes need work. Tires are the original tires that were on the truck when I purchased back in 1993. they hold air and still have a fair amount of tread on them but they are old. I am unsure if the engine is the original one. It does have a remanufactured number on the engine and since I didn't speak with it's original owner I only can go by the engine plate that states it's a remanufactured engine serial number of LBM 5I929. *** I can't be sure of actual mileage on the vehicle since the odometer has not worked and I have no info. showing me what it was at the time I purchased it the mileage in the provided box on this listing is ONLY a guestimate****. All other interior gauges work. Interior floorboards are not rusted through. original bench seat does have tearing and needs repair on the driver's side but the remainder of the seat is in good condition and it's sturdy. Interior door panels are in fair condition. There is a crack in the driver's side window but all other glass is intact and in good shape. Headlamps worked when I last started it a few weeks ago but I did not test the heating. Again I really don't have history of the truck before it came into my possession and haven't used it for many years other than to drive it out of the storage building on my property and up to my garage. The brakes would need to be checked and most likely repaired. The truck is currently in my heated garage in Almena. WI. I do have a clear title for the state of WI but the truck is not currently licensed there since it has been in storage. It needs some mechanical work but the body other than the running board is in great shape for someone who has the time to restore it. I don't use the truck and hope that someone who has the time and interest to refurbish it further can give it a good home. Shipping will be the responsibility of the winning bidder. A $500. 00 cash deposit or Paypal transfer must be received within 24 hours of auction close. I will work with the new owner in being available when the shipping company comes to pick up the truck. If you have any further questions please message me and I will try to the best of my knowledge to answer them. This would be a great vehicle for a collector with really minimal body work needed other than the interior.
