Car description |
---|
You are looking at a nearly all original time capsule, this 1979 Camaro Z28 was ordered and bought new in Seattle Washington to live out its life in Canada. All original including driveline, interior (90%) and paint. This car was ordered with Export package (km/h gauges, ect.) as well as a factory engine block heater, but ended up staying in the US and never being converted back to US specs. This options along with the color choice makes this car extremely rare. The car was driven for a short time and put up in a climate control storage in 1991. In 2012 it was pulled from storage, and gone completely through to get it back on the road, NOT restored, just things like brakes, fluid changes, belts, ect to make it ready for the road. I bought the car in 2013 from the original owner and had it shipped to Arkansas to my son. There he had the wheels powdercoated, new tires, new heater core, power steering pump, alternator, headliner, carpet, door sill plates and a few other items changed, then in 2014 he drove the car 700 miles to me here in Central Georgia with zero issues, averaging around 17 MPG. Since I have had it here I have only replaced the battery, the car starts up like it should, every thing works including the power windows, locks, wipers, heater, rear defog, and even the door buzzard when the keys are left inside the car. I have never plugged in the block heater, but its still mounted on the car as it should be. Also please take note the mileage in the photo is KM, I have converted that to actual miles in the description.
Upon removal of the carpet we did find the build sheet to support the options on this car, the floors on this car are very solid with zero rust, all the wiring is untouched and every panel on the car is original. we even replaced the valve cover gaskets and top of the head was extremely clean. I bought this car with the intentions to restore it, however with too many other projects, and no room for it, I have decided to sell it. Ill list some of the production numbers below that I pulled fromhttp://www.nastyz28.com/camaro/camaro79.html so you can see how rare some of these parts are. This car could be one of only a handful, if not the only med green z/28 ordered for export with the factory engine block heater since so few total camaro's were ordered in that color, and those two options were also extremely low production numbers. Car is also equipped with PW, PDL, PS, Cruise, rear defog, Gauge package, and more. I can get you in touch with the original owner if you would like more info after purchasing the car, I still have his email info.
You'll be hard to find another unmolested camaro in this shape, its not mint, but its super solid, rare and ready for someone to restore, or drive as is. Car still has the tag from the original dealership on the spoiler, decals in the door, as well as factory spare and a few other parts. Please feel free to ask any and all questions, thanks for looking!!!
282,582 Camaros produced, including 84,877 Z28's
44 Paint Code Med Green 3,894K05 Engine Block Heater 5,528U18 Export Speedo 5,786U14 Special Instruments 20,015
These are just a few of the options, as you can see on the build sheet, this car was loaded with nearly everything other than AC
