Car description |

For auction here is a 1969 Corvair Monza 2 door hard top coupe. Car is very highly optioned with the following:140 horse power enginePowerglide transmissionam/fm radiorear speakerrear defroster
clocktelescopic steering columnquick steering (with correct short arms)heavy duty suspensionlight grouprear bumper guardsOne item that was noted by the owner when he was alive is that the car has Koni shocks on it. They are now rusty but I figured I would point that out.
Car was originally Cortez silver on black. Build date is 02D (4th week of February)Car is part of an estate of a Corvair collector who passed away. Last time it was on the road was 1985.Car is VERY rusty and would be best used for parts. It was in a very damp storage unit where the roof fell it. It sat for many years with debris on it that rusted through the tops of the fenders and trunk lid. The roof panel is still pushed in. Most panels on the car are perforated with rust.
While in storage someone stole the defroster controls, horn button and the primary carburetors.I have not checked to see if the engine turns. For all intents and purposes we will say it does not.
I verified the steering box turns smoothly in both directions.
I am starting the starting bid at the assessed value of the steering box and arms alone. If you are a Corvair guy you can do the math as to what the other items such as the tele column and radio, etc are worth.
I have the title in hand.
Car is sold AS IS and MUST be picked up in Bordentown, NJ. I will not ship it nor will I transport it. Car does not run (as noted above) and does not roll very well.
Payment is due within 48 hours unless other arrangements are made.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
