classic looks and beautiful curves of squarebody pickup with all the power and reliability of a modern drivetrain. there is a lot that has been done to this beauty. The factory carbureted v8 engine and crappy transmission that this truck was born with has been removed and sold for scrap weight. The new heart of this girl is 1994 LT1 5.7 fuel injected removed from a 1994 Chevrolet caprice with 100,000 miles and then completely overhauled, new rings, bearings, gaskets, oil pum, water pum, plug, wires, injectorsand a majority of the sensors. These LT1 engines were commom in the corvette, Camaro, impala ss and Caprice. the 4l60E transmission from this same vehicle has also been completely rebuilt and installed into this truck with a new torque converter.
The front and rear brakes have been gone through, the bearings have been packed and seals replaced. The rear end is a 373 with a 5 inch flip kit and C-notch in the rear with new belltech shocks. the front end has western chassis 2 1/2 inch drop spindles and 2 inch western chassis coil springs, the ball joints were replaced when the spindles were installed and new belltech shocks were installed on the front axle as well. All body bushings have been replaced with energy suspension polyurethane bushings . The ride is smooth and better that stock.
The interior of this truck has been fitted with 60/40 gray cloth seats out of a newer vehicle also . they are very comfortable. the dash has Dakota digital gauges installed. all of the gauges work except the speedometer which I haven't figured out yet. There is less than 100 miles on this truck since the build the motor has been started and ran and the truck has been driven a couple of miles to make sure the transmission shifts through all the gears, it runs great and shifts smoothly. If I was going to keep this truck there are a couple of things I would do to make it better. It needs a windshield, a better exhaust system with new mufflers,a nicer paint job and figure out the speedometer.
no more pumping the gas and setting the chok, turn the key and go! If youre into tuning, this is a computer controlled engine and transmission . I am including my tunercats computer software program and cable to plug into the wired obd11 port and make engine and transmission adjustments, read code, fix problems, etc.
This is not a show truck bu, its a goodcruize, I have been all over this truck and have not found a bit of rust anywhere. it has a clean title and its fun to drive and should get pretty decent mileage. if you have any questions please ask. reserve is 6,300. thanks for looking !
