Hello. I am listing a 1951 Chevy Styleline Deluxe. I'm the 3rd owner of this car and I have owned it for the last 15 years. but have only finished it within the last year and a half. It started life as a 4 door car with a blue flame 216 inline six and a 3 speed manual transmission. When I first bought the car it had 54K original miles on it but only has 717 miles more on it since I've finished it. (even thought I have installed a modern speedo I still have the original to verify it) It had a problem with the engine early after I bought it and I put it in storage due to a lack of funds and a new baby my wife and I had. That all happened in late 1999. then in January of 2002 we had a large ice storm and a tree lost one of its branches. hitting the roof and denting it as well as breaking out some of the windows. So. now the car had a problem with the engine and the body had a large dint in the roof. I hated to have it crushed for other than the roof the body was great (other than a dint in the drivers door and fender) At that point I covered it with a tarp and let it sit for the next 12 years. Then late January 2013 I rolled her into the garage and started building on it. I cut the destroyed roof off and removed the broken windows. stripped the weathered and tattered interior. The car has no rust thanks to the tarp. and other than the drivers door and fender dent (someone backed into it in storage). as well as small dents and bruises it was in good shape. I installed a rebuilt 350 V8. rebuilt tune port injection from a 1991 Chevy Camaro and a 700r4 automatic transmission that was also rebuilt. It has all new parts internally. has a small torque cam. 24lbs Boche III injectors and a 58mm Pro comp throttle body and boy does she purr like a kitten. The ECM has an aftermarket power chip and a stand alone harness from Techrods. The automatic was also rebuilt at the same time. has a small stall converter. but very small. It has a large transmission cooler for long cruises. It has a Hurst Indy shifter with a '50s style dice knob. The Dual exhaust has a nice rumble but not annoying when driving. It is true duals. with Thrush mufflers. all the way to the tail of the car. The gas tank was replaced with a EFI unit from Tanks Inc. and I installed the fuel sending unit from Omega and 255 lph Bosch high pressure fuel pump. The fuel system is a return fuel system. and all are replaceable with local part supply house parts for a 1991 Camaro. but as of right now they are all new. The Pro comp Alterntor is a 140 amp unit and has been polished nicely. It runs the electrical system and EFI system perfectly. I upgraded the 6 volt electrical system by installing a new 12 volt 12 circuit system that has turn signals. but no hazards. Brand new heavy duty starter and a optima red top spiral core battery. The cooling system is a 4 core all aluminum radiator with built in transmission cooler. but I have the transmission connected to an aftermarket cooler. It has a new Ford Taurus 17" electric cooling fan that has a manual temp switch. as well as an automatic on at 200 off at 180 but the sensor that runs it is intermittent. I will order another sensor and include it with the sale. The hoses are stainless steel polished units and work well. Has a new water pump and billet aluminum pulleys and the alternator pulley is an overdrive pulley to help with the high electrical loads of the engine cooling fan. I also have a Gilmer belt drive that I will include with the sale if you want the blower sound. The air filter is a K&N reusable filter. Flows great and increases power and mileage. The brakes have been upgraded to powered disc brakes on the front and the rear has new drums and hardware as well as springs and wheel cylinders and semi metallic pads. All the brake lines have been replace as well as a new proportioning valve and rubber hoses. The brake booster is a 7" booster and is under the drivers seat floor board to keep the firewall looking nice and smooth. The driveshaft is a rebuilt 1978 Camaro with heavy duty Spicer u-joints. balanced at a off road performance shop. The rear end has 2. 92 ratio open carrier for great highway cruising yet nice power for town driving. The Interior are ZX2 seats that I had redone. and the front seats are heated seats if the weather gets a little cold. There isn't a heater. The back seat base have been shortened to fit and they do not have heaters. The gauges are new Omega street rod electronic gauges. Programmable for any rear end gear. nbsp;tire. nbsp;and wheel size. All the sensors (gauges and engine) are new and I find them accurate. The clock on the other hand is original and even though it works doesn't keep accurate time. The chrome is a little pitted but still looks very nice. I have removed the glove box and used it for the engine ECM. nbsp;assembly line data link (ALDL= to read engine codes) a lighter plug for any 12v accessories. like a radar detector. scan tool or phone charger and a battery disconnect to stop the battery from going dead and I also have it wired to stop theft. The Boss radio with remote is a 4 1/2" DVD player (has line outs for more monitors). Bluetooth for music and hands free phone use. usd and sd card media slots as well as a radio. Plays great music through four 6 1/2" Crunch 2 way speakers and for a little more bass I have installed a pioneer 10" subwoofer with a Kenwood Mono amp. The body is in great shape for a 64 year old car. I didn't have to do much body work other than re-skinning part of the door and fender. small dints and custom work like the smoothed the firewall in the engine bay. There isn't a roof. THIS IS A ROADSTER! I have welded up the body with 1/8 x 2" plate for integrity. and safety. I have 4 kids now. and they ride with me to cruises and shows. I wanted it safe. probably overbuilt it. The door glass has been removed as well as the mechanisms for a clean line. The door handles have been removed and welded shut as well as 186 holes where the old trim was. To get in you use the billet inside door handles. The carpet has been glued down and is in nice condition. but has a few wrinkles in the back seat area. The door panels. kick panels. rear panels are custom upholstered as well as the wooden center console and package tray. Rear have cup holders as well as the center console. I did this myself. again not perfect but I think they look great. The front glass is race car Lexan and it is screwed and glued in. I didn't have a place that did custom glass so that was the option I had to do. but it wouldn't be hard for someone to remove the four screws and have one made for it. The tail lights are new reproductions units from a 1959 Cadillac and have turn signals. The front are the factory 1951 clear glass lenses. The bumper in the back is original 3 piece version and has pitting and scratches. The front bumper is a shortened 3 piece factory unit 1955 Chevy Bel-air and I modified the front splash pan to make it work by adding metal. The grill and side pieces are factory stainless but has scratches and a few dints. The "hood rocket" is also original but in great shape for its age. The paint on this car is Summit Racing satin black with TCI flat blue (have more included with the sale of the car for touch-up). nbsp;the metal is good other than I didn't try to make it a flawless body. I know I missed some small dints and my body work isn't perfect. but its a great looking driver. Every time I had to getting gas I had to have a long conversation with other customers getting gas. saying how wonderful the car looked. As I have said before I have four kids that range from 15 to 6 and I made this car to be driven. I didn't want to be on pins and needles every time we went for a cruise or to the grocery store. I'm not saying someone cannot make it a show car though. This car has zero rust on it! the frame is solid other than some surface rust. most of the car still has its original undercoating on it. The trunk has its original trunk mat. Its basicly a new car. It runs great. gets 19 mpg and you look cool doing it. Its a bit bumpy since its been lowered 2" but the seats are comfortable. The wipers are vacuum operated and I have removed the linkage and welded the studs in. They are there for legal reasons. but with a roadster you won't be in the rain. I have driven in the light rain once when I was on a cruise you hardly get wet if your moving. The tires are I average condition with beauty rings and some custom made hub caps. and I have a clear title in my name. in my hand. If you are in or close to Wichita Kansas I encourage you to come look at it and even drive it before bidding. I will help with loading but you are to make the arrangements for shipping was well as paying for it. I do not warranty the car but I am not worried about anything on the car. I built it for me to cruise around but a roadster in Kansas is not a good idea. its either too cold. to hot or a chance of rain. Not interested in trades unless its a BLUE Corvette or BLUE late model Camaro. If you need more pictures (I have some before paint) or have questions email me. I will answer all emails. good luck! I know you will enjoy this car!On Feb-08-15 at 06:56:43 PST. seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that it also has new shocks on all four corners. On Feb-10-15 at 13:37:52 PST. seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that I have the original fender skirts (painted the original black not satin and would require body work) and the original front bumper if you want them. I would be willing to install them and take more pictures if requested. Thanks for all the comments on the car and questions. but I can't load more pictures on Ebay for some reason. I will be happy to Email any build pictures to you if you send me a message with your email address. I was also asked if any build pictures would be available if they won the auction. the answer is Yes. I will buy a memory stick and include all the pictures of the car that I have of the entire build process. Hope that helps! Have a great day!!
