There is no Reserve on this car. it will be sold. It is definitely a restorable car. This 1946 Aerosedan represents Chevrolet's "Top of the Line" for 1946. and includes the under-seat heater. original AM radio. GM Spot Light and all other standard features for the period. This car was recently removed from long term storage. and seems to have last been licensed in 1978. I have a clear Ohio title for the car in my name. The car starts. runs. and will move but is not in driveable condition. It has the original 216 straight 6 engine and transmission. and all original components appear to be in place. It is very complete. all the stainless trim pieces are inside the car. It has 4 ancient tires in the correct original size (600 x 16) which roll and hold air fine. and a fifth wheel is in the trunk. When I say that it runs. I have it running via a gas can sitting on the fender instead of using the car's gas tank. The key is missing so I jumped it from the battery to the coil to start it. I did let it sit and run for 15 minutes. and it held oil pressure. did not over heat and did not make any bad sounding noises. just settled down and idled quite well. I had the rocker cover off. and everything was very clean. But the car clearly needs a full restoration. It appears that someone had begun a restoration effort by removing all the exterior trim and some of the interior. and stripped the paint from the body long ago - then just stopped and stored the car. and never came back to it. But it was stored inside and dry. although clearly surface rust developed. It has now been painted with a sealer-primer to protect the body. The body under the primer shows pitting over most surfaces. but is still reasonably sound and solid. The areas that have rust issues are as follows: the right front fender shows old bondo work on the front near the lower grille and on the lower side ahead of the door. I have included a photo with arrows pointing at the old repair work and rust. The left front fender is better in front. but shows old repairs at the lower area ahead of the door also. The doors. rear fenders. trunk lid. and quarters are pretty decent. The quarters have small areas of rust-through at the very rear of the car. which again there is a photo with arrows showing this. Outer rockers have issues where the rocker trim attaches and covers. The cabin floors are pretty solid except a small area in the right rear near the door. For some reason. an "L" shaped hole was cut in the front floorboard (shown in photo) but the floor is otherwise solid. The trunk floor is totally rusted out. Replacement trunk floor panels are available and I show a photo of one - THIS IS NOT INCLUDED. I am just showing you that they are readily available at about $200. I don't want to misrepresent the car. there will be a lot of sanding involved. but it is restorable. The front end sheet metal pieces and the fender extension pieces on the doors are just sitting in place for the photos. so that you can see they are there. It appears that every piece of stainless trim is present. A few of the pieces have dings or slight bends but appear to be restorable and usable. The pot metal chrome pieces are pitted and should be replaced. Chrome grille and bumpers still have some chrome left on them. probably re-plate-able. The original interior is in place as shown. with the handles and window reveals etc all removed but with the car. Certainly good for patterns and the trim bits at the least. There is an original Chevrolet Shop Manual included with the car. The car has a new NAPA 6 Volt battery included. Well. it's about a year old now. I laid out the stainless trim along the driver's side in one photo to show that it is all there. And another photo shows the other trim pieces. the window reveals. etc. There is also a photo of the rusty trunk floor before the photo of the available patch panels (not included). You can see a short video of the car starting and running on YouTube at: http://youtu. be/XKm-7rr63GcI encourage you to come and inspect the car if you are seriously interested in it. or have a trusted friend come. I am happy to answer any questions. or send any detail photos you might want to see. I brought this car home to save it. not to restore and keep for myself. So I am not trying to get rich and retire early on this car. I just want to get it into the hands of someone who can appreciate it and enjoy restoring it. I need the space in my Shop for a new project that I am anxious to get started on. Car is located in Medina. Ohio 44256 (25 miles south of Cleveland). The car is for sale locally. and I reserve the right to sell it and end the auction early. I can deliver it within a couple of hundred miles for expenses. I don't want to store it for a new owner for more than a week. I want the space. that's why I'm selling it now. If you have less than a 10 Feedback. or a bunch of negatives. contact me before bidding or I will delete the bid. I want Cash. or Money Orders. or a certified Bank Check for payment at the time of delivery. which as above must be within 7 days of the auction ending. Obviously. there is no warranty. Thank you for your interest. and please bid to win and give this old girl a new life.
