Car description

One for the ages to come!!! Welcome to the car that's a diamond...... And we all know those take pressure, years of time, discovery, cutting and polishing!!!
A true trailer Queen, yet a daily driver no problem! Showpiece Indeed!!

ONE incredible BelAir Bubbletop;
This '62 Chevy BelAir Bubbletop is a beauty in the correct Ermine White painted exterior, and full bench seats with red period reproduction covers by Ciadella's. But the soul of this car is even more intriguing:
A date correct 409ci QB code V-8 motor has just 500 miles on it and the date correct
four-speed manual transmission topped with a Hurst floor shifter replaced the 327 ci V-8 and powerglide transmission;
A complete rebuild on front suspension with 2" lowering spindles; there's power steering with CPP steering box and remote pump reservoir; an aluminum 4-core radiator; the original dual snorkel air cleaner; a new 2& 1/2 " exhaust system;
and the list goes on and on and ON!!!
The hours of studying, swap meet hunting, collective ideas turned into ideas all kept meticulously in a journal up to and including a weekly journal for the next owner to read for HOURS of what was done in the build up process!!!!!

Here's the story behind this car; Built in California, the car was in the possession of the same family for 25 years. It was purchased through an entertaining exchange of lengthy handwritten letters, and typed to-the-point notes, as well as telephone conversations between buyer and seller, who had owned it for 12 years. It's too bad there is no record of the calls! And yes my late husband had his eye on the BelAir to purchase one for years before he actually had the opportunity to purchase it!

The trip to load up the car, was a collaborative effort by the buyer and his two childhood and lifelong friends, all car crazy. The BelAir arrived at its new home on Mother's Day, 1993. The Mom in this house was not impressed when her spouse told her the car was her Mother's Day gift!
This new owner was, to put it mildly, detail oriented. Look at the photo of the sandblasted and Zolatone-coated trunk. Spilling out of the box are letters, lists, invoices, photos, even the original owner's manual. Journaling, thinking, even making mistakes till these men got it right was always the goal without compromise!!

The co-owner's husband and his two best friends all passed away within 20 months of each other. She says this car was rebuilt with love, attention to detail, fun, and a clear vision. Now It is time for someone else to enjoy it.
Locally one of the most well known collectors has been pushing the owner to sell and in a town of deep roots to hot rods and culture fortunately she found Rex, with a more personal approach. Your welcome:) Our loss your most definite GAIN!

As you can see this car was literally rolled over mirrors for the underneath pictures, and you wont find 1 BOLT out of place or untouched!!!Yes it's THAT correct!!....
If this car sells for my asking and starting bid know you getting it for WELL under market value! We know because we've been watching for many years none have met the mark yet!
Thanks for stopping by, Cash only, no trades, and look forward to hearing from you if your ready to BUY only..
