Chevelle 2-Door Station Wagons were onlybuilt in1964 and 1965 in very small numbers and the survival rate seems to be very small. Finding a good one today is nearly impossible and one as nice as this rarelycomes to market. This 1965 model just went thru a very comprehensive restoration to be a safe and reliablemildlymodified cruiser. Beginning with a tired but complete car. The first major work was the replacement of the interior floor-plans with factory solid panels obtained from a Southwest donor car. The work was done to a high level of quality and other minor rust on rear quarters was also done properly with metal repairs. Front Fenders were also sourced to replace the originals that were failing at lower rear corners. The floor rust is extremely common in these cars and this car is done right t not become a recurring problem. Body integrity is now very good, panel fit is excellent and car is straight and true.Frame and chassis components were all sandblasted and repainted. All suspension was rebuilt. Power front disc brakes have been fitted. Power assisted rack and pinion steering has also been done to achieve a more modern, great handling driving experience. An older V-8 was replaced with a freshly stock rebuilt 1968 327-300HP motor with a few mild performance upgrades. Headers meetup to a complete new dual exhaust system with Magnaflow Mufflers. The car runs excellent and needs no engine or mechanical attention of any kind. It is a great sounding motor, cool running with good oil pressure and no leaks of any sort.Transmission is a 5-speed manual Tremec sourced from an S-10 Blazer with low miles. It shifts smooth and quiet and the gear ratios of the Tremec combined with the 3:55 rear gear make for lively performance and great highway speed cruising. The interior could be the overall highlight of this build. A full custom very high-end interior was just completed as you will seein our pictures. No detail was left undone. The original folding front seat was highly modified to have a better lower cushion profile and side bolsters like a modern luxury car. The Black and Dark Saddle upholstery was done in the pattern of a late model Mercedes-Benz designointerior. A new Black headliner and fully bound custom carpet with matching floormats complete the package. Dash is fully restored and a new digital in-dash stereo installed. The complete interior was just finished by the local shop that does High End Street Rods and this work is nothing short of spectacular.Exterior paint is fresh in Butternut Yellow with PPG Matte finish clear coat. It is stunning and attention-gettingand a true show quality body and paint refinish. All exterior trim is either new or replated. A new tinted windshield is in place. All other glass is originaland does have some scratches but not severe. All weatherstripping is new.We just fitted a brand new set of Hurst Dazzer 15" wheels with7" up front and 8" in the rear with 4 new BF Goodrich T/A Radials.Ride height and tire size was determined to achieve the perfect stance and preserve a good streetable ride. This is just one overall super "cool" Chevelle Wagon ready for your enjoyment. Please review all of our pictures, ask questions or come to Erie, PA to view the car. True mileage is unknown. We are selling with a very reasonable reserve. Clearly, less than you spend to build this car even if you could find one of these rare 2-door wagons.
