Car description

1979 Chevrolet Malibu Station Wagon
I recently took a road trip from Houston to Victoria in this car with no problems, it is mechanically sound. The car has cold AC and holds lots of cargo. This is not a show car and may need a few items and repairs, but it is a lot of fun to take out for a weekend trip and gets thumbs up from other drivers.
The interior has been redone. The dash, door panels, and seats were reconditioned. The original gauges were replaced with Dakota Digital gauges. No radio. New headliner. New window felt and weather strip on the doors. The exterior color is dodge viper red. The front header panel and trim is from a 1981 Malibu. The car has solid body panels and frame with no rust. Front bumper was de-chromed and painted silver, the back bumper was re-chromed and we added new tail light lenses.
The engine is a stock 267 v8 from a 1980 and has 80,000 miles on it. The front accessory drive on the engine has been swapped for a late model single serpentine belt system. The transmission is a TH350 that has been rebuilt with a 2000rpm stall converter and RV shift kit, the rear axle ratio is 3.42 to 1 with limited slip. The exhaust system flows through flowtech full length headers with 2.5 inch dual exhaust with x pipe and split rear exit behind the rear tires.
The suspension bushings and springs have been replaced. 2 inch drop spindles up front with new Moog springs. The front sway bar is a suspension techniques unit that is much larger diameter than the original and gives the car a stable feel on the road. The steering box is a high ratio unit from a Pontiac Formula that allows the wheels to turn sharper with less input from the steering wheel. The rear axle was removed, rebuilt with a limited slip differential, painted, and installed with new bushings, QA1 springs, Spohn control arms, GM sway bar, and aluminum brake drums. Wheels are 17 by 7 front and 17 by 8 rear with 225 50 and 245 50 tires.
