If you are shopping for a once in a lifetime super solid and straight unrestored barn find "patina" truck to drive around and have fun in this Summer. or want an awesome "shop truck" which are also in high demand. then this may be the one you are looking for. This is a 1959 Chevrolet Pickup truck that came from dry Eastern Washington and it has been barn stored in such a low humidity climate all its life there is no rust through anywhere except the cab corners and one teeny BB sized hole in the drivers front fender bottom. I do not really want to sell this truck. but I lucked into a similarly rust free short bed 59 Apache (the one you see in the background pictures) so I simply don't need two 1959 Apaches. Its hard to believe a truck could look this beautiful with 90% of its original Blue paint. and exposed factory primer where the elements and mother nature have swept away the Blue. This truck is 100% original. and an amazing survivor anyone would cherish and love to own. It has no former body work and while the rear fenders are lightly dented on the tops from work. none of the cab-forward sheetmetal is dented - the truck is straight as an arrow and solid as a rock. I drove this truck through town yesterday and again today and even people who don't like old trucks (women) were craning their necks to see it. It has its tired but dependable old 235 straight 6 engine. and original 4 speed manual trans. and the truck simply runs and drives great. I was super surprised to find the steering tight and so incredibly easy to steer - I expected to work that wheel like a school bus. but it steers like its got power steering compared to other old trucks in my collection which are often hard to steer. This truck does not have all the flashy chrome bumpers and grille. or cab chrome but I tell you - I would not change one thing on this one. The patina is as near perfect on this truck as could be asked for. and rivals what body shops are charging thousands to replicate. So chrome would not make this truck look sharper - I think its perfect just like it is. Lots of questions for you to ask. so just TEXT or call me at 256 486 1988 ****Will have a "You Tube" video of this truck available shortly - text for the link!!!ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN: This truck is a "daily driver" so everything is as you would expect for a truck driven daily or weekly at least. The carburetor has a weak accelerator pump which does not affect it driving. but occasionally affects it on restarts. so I ordered a rebuilt carb to replace it that will be here Wednesday. The engine runs great but smokes ever so lightly and probably has been used enough in its 56 year life to be close to ready for a rebuild by now (assuming it must have over 100K on the engine most likely). so I have also bought a rebuilt 235 engine to go in this truck if I end up keeping and playing with it this Summer. but if a serious buyer shows up and wants to get the extra rebuilt engine with the truck. I will let you have it for exactly what I am paying - just add 900. 00 to the cost of the truck and you can pick this engine up when you are here. Its a good deal on a rebuilt and cosmetically restored engine because you certainly cant pay anyone to build a 235 for only 900 dollars. None of the guages seem to work. but none of that hampers being able to drive it. and I am working on fixing the guages anyway for my own purposes. Everything else seems to work fine. No buggered wiring on this truck since it never had a factory or aftermarket radio in it. so no buggered dash either. No kids have ever owned or drove this one thankfully. Gas tank is clean. in daily driver condition and works great with no issues. TIRES / WHEELS: tires are brand new BF Goodrich radials and have very deep tread w/ no wear. Wheels are not the originals to the truck and are stamped steel original type wheels - probably off a later model Chevy or GMC. ELECTRICAL AND GLASS: Brand new tinted windshield in it. all glass is great and crack free minus the Drivers side vent glass which is cracked. Electrical all seems to be good in terms of lights. signals etc. and the heater works. but the guages in the cluster do not work for whatever unknown reason so I am working on that regardless of whether the truck sells or not. So despite my saying above that this truck has no rust anywhere except the cab corners. someone will no doubt not understand that fully and question the steps and door bottoms anyway. so let me say it again - THERE IS NO RUST HOLES ANYWHERE ON THIS TRUCK EXCEPT THE CAB CORNERS - so yes. the doors are perfect. steps are perfect. floors are perfect. etc etc etc. no rust means no rust. Now while they do not have rust through. on the front fenders you can see where rust is trying to start in the rear sections where most are already long gone - the drivers front fender does have one teeny BB sized hole in it. otherwise very solid and certainly nicer than anyone elses' bondo machine might have. Both these front fenders are still super solid and straight - up to you if you drive em as they are. clear coat them or if you go further with more evasive rust prevention. SHIPPING / TITLE = this truck is located in Joppa Alabama 35087 and if you live in a bordering state. this truck should be dependable enough to drive home. but with 56 yr old trucks I generally recommend trailering for safety. I can arrange shipping on my trailer for a fee to surrounding states. Otherwise your shipper has to come here to get it. In Alabama we do not have titles on vehicles older than 1974 (Thank God) so all other title-requiring states have a simple method where you will take a copy of my registration (what we use that looks like a title) and a bill of sale. and they will all make you a title no problem - the other states are all aware of Alabama's title policy and have a standard method set up to deal with non-title bearing vehicles. So don't worry about your title - they will give you one easy enough.
