1983 Chevrolet Super Sport El Camino, yes car is an original SS. Had been looking for this car for a while but quickly realized they are climbing in value to the point where I couldn’t afford to finally pick one up.

Was very lucky finding this beauty, car had same owner for most of its life. Guy I purchased from said it was his father in law’s baby right up till he passed away. He said the man meticulously maintained the car and kept her clean and polished in the garage.

Son in law was selling because he had owned for a while after father in law passed and said he rarely used it, when he did use was for trips to home depot so was basically a truck to him. Also told me it bothered him to watch it sit outside and not be given the care it once was. This is where I came in.

Purchased the car from the gentleman, picked it up in Maryland. When I brought home I went over entire car, all new brakes, drums, rotors, etc. new upper and lower ball joints, serviced trans, serviced rear diff, all new shocks all around, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, flushed and filled radiator, new belts and hoses. Also had all new valve seals and keepers etc. No more smoke on start up like most old Chevys do. New quadrajet factory replacement carb, A/C BLOWS COLD, heat blows hot. Car has original full size spare and original jack all neatly mounted and functional. Only thing I did not fix is the cruise control, had hard time finding the piece I needed under hood.

I use this car all the time and I love it, took it up and down the east coast, the pics with the Harley in the back were taken this memorial day weekend, drove car with bike to Virginia. Ran 75-80mph whole way and ran like a dream as usual. If you notice I recently painted the rally wheels the same as the bottom half of the car that is the way they currently are. On the recent trip to VA the speedometer cable broke, heard a noise in the dash and then the speedo dropped out. A new cable will be included with the car as I just ordered one, the small plastic square end broke off therefore disabling the speedo.

All together she is a really nice reliable El Camino that you can immediately enjoy. Car has very little rust, some small spots on bottom of doors and one over wheel well. None are through and barely noticeable just wanted to give full disclosure. Car is very clean and solid underneath and I installed a flow master muffler as well at time of purchase. Oh and recently brand new Cooper Cobra tires, maybe 5000 miles on them. Have the original owner’s manual and sales brochure in the glove box.
