The surf wagon must go because I no longer have indoor parking for it. In 2002. I found this Chevy in a garage in Orange County where it had been sitting for a number of years. The owner told me that the car was originally purchased by a Southern California rancher who sold it to her family in 1955. It was in her family until I purchased it. The car was the family car for years and finally spent four years on the East Coast in the 90's with her son while he attended college and made at least two cross country trips. The car was restored at least 25 years ago and painted an original Chevy color. The car has some rust on the body but is in good overall condition. It is a six volt. When I purchased the car. I put it in a shop to get it running (check the brakes. fluids. fuel pump. etc. ) and then drove it from Orange County to San Francisco. The only problem was a worn out clutch that was replaced on arrival. Since then I have used the car on weekends and as an occasional daily driver. The car has been maintained by Paul Grech of Allied Engine in San Francisco. As far as I know the car is all original with the exception of electronic ignition installed about 6 years ago. I have a lot of original documentation.
