1977 Chevrolet Corvette T-Top Sport Coupe Rare Factory 4-Speed Car with only 44. 55 Miles Numbers Matching Engine L-48 350 C. I. V8 (4BBL Carburetor) Just finished a very nice cosmetic restorationThis 1977 Corvette is one of the best driving ones we have had and is one nice car. We purchased this car from a gentleman in North Carolina back in April of 2014 whom had the car for some time. The car was presentable but we decided to take the car to the next level. The paint was good but not exceptional. We decided to repaint the car in the correct Classic White but did leave the door jambs alone. You can still see the original labels and yellow glue that the factory used to install the weatherstrips. The door jamb paint still shows well and does match up to the new paint. The car was done in base coat clear coat and the emblems. parking grill assemblies. door handles. tail lights. were removed. The paint was color sanded and buffed out nicely once completed. The paint job alone these days can run you upwards of $7. 00 to $10. 00. Most body shops do not even want to tackle a fiberglass Corvette as well. The original paint on these cars was not all that great back in the day thus most survivor cars do need repainting today. The car shows well now and shines like it should. We did replace the door handles. taillights. repainted the windshield trim. and restored the parking light grill assemblies. All of the window glass is original in the car. Both front and rear bumpers are the original urethane ones and have plenty of flex left in them and are not cracked. The miles on the car show 44. 51 and to the best of our knowledge is accurate and correct. The hood was removed and restored on both sides with a new underhood insulation. The T-tops were refinished as well with new weatherstrips on them and we did replace the weatherstrips on the body of the car as well around the windshield. The interior on the car was all original except for the carpeting. We removed the entire interior and cleaned everything and refreshed many parts with dye. The dash pad is perfect with no cracks nor and cracks in the speaker area as you will see in most of the cars. The gauges are all nice and working except for the clock. The radio is original and works excellent on both am and fm. We did replace the steering wheel and console around the shifter area. The seats were the original leather ones in amazing shape we just replaced the lower part of the seat foam on them. We did remove the seat tracks. cleaned. restored. and lubricated them. The rear battery tray behind the seats was replaced and all fits nicely. The original jack and lug wrench is still with the car along with the original spare tire and wheel and spare tire lock. The original seat belts are all intact and do retract and work like they should. The carpeting was installed correctly and fitted nice with new carpet floor mats. The door panels are original and when removed you could clearly see the original dates on them. They are nice and presentable. Everything on this interior does fit well unlike most. The color combination is original to this car in Classic White with Red Leather Interior. Exterior code 10 and interior code 722. We did detail the engine compartment with new hoses. labels. clamps. restored air cleaner assembly. painted intake and engine block. and top shielding on car. The engine compartment does look nice and can be shown if desired. The underside is presentable and mostly original. It has not been undercoated and the frame is very nice and solid. This 1977 was built on Thursday October 28th. 1976. This was the 10. 24th car built out of 49. 13 total produced in 1977. Features and options include:L-48 350 C. I. We did replace many other parts to make this car as nice as we wanted including all new aluminized exhaust system from Corvette Central. true dual exhaust. new tires. new water pump. new fan clutch. all new vacuum hoses and vacuum tanks for the headlights so they work with ease. all new air conditioning components including compressor. condenser. hoses. heater and a/c controls. almost $1. 00 just spent on a/c alone. restored spare tire carrier. close to $10. 00 just spent on this car alone not counting the cost of the car in the past 6 months. All receipts have been put into a file along with other papers including a window sticker. sales brochure. owners manual. assembly manual. previous title from former owner. odometer statement. one set of original keys. and the leather t-top storage bags. This 1977 is just one you can get in and drive or even show. The a/c works like it should. all lights work properly. tires are balanced out smoothly. and the transmission shifts exceptional. We also did change the fluids in the car including the rear end grease. 1977 was the last year for the straight back window in a Corvette. Between August 23 and September 7. 1976. Flint Engine changed from orange paint to blue for Corvette engines. A new console held heater and a/c controls and accepted standard Delco radios due to its increased depth. A new steering column positioned the steering wheel two inches closer to the instrument panel to provide more of an "arms out" driving position. and easier entry and exit. The headlight dimmer and windshield wiper/washer controls were located on steering column stalks. Sunshades were redesigned to permit swinging to the side windows. The interior rearview mirror mounting point was relocated from above the windshield to the windshield itself. A newly designed leather wrapped steering wheel was introduced.
