Read the entire post. This is a project that needs to be finished. This is a non running project that will need to be trailered. It should be assumed that all drivetrain components will need to be rebuilt, and drive shafts made. All of the mock up is done. The title is clean and clear.
This was put together as a simple dependable truck. No computers, as mechanical as possible so it never fails. Over 14k invested as it sits. It was built with the intentions of keeping it forever, not with the intentions to sell it.
The 5.9 6bt Cummins engine is from a 1991 W250 Dodge. It is a known good engine with 180K miles on it. The injection pump gear is not hooked up, and the flywheel along with the torque converter is not on or hooked up to keep me from being tempted to start it before everything was finished. It needs an oil pan, I cut it with the sawzall on mock up by accident.
The radiator is a Champion Dual pass stock car Aluminum unit with two 1" rows. There is a custom made fiberglass fan shroud around it to channel air correctly.
It has a Diesel Conversions billet high mount ac compressor bracket. That uses a 2001 Ram compressor and a 2002 Powerstroke Alternator.
The Turbo is a new upgraded holset HX35 turbo. All boost tubes are custom made aluminum with four wrap high pressure hoses. There is a custom air to liquid intercooler set up that uses a three core aluminum Honda racing radiator, and Mustang Cobra Bosch electric pump solely to cool the air charge, along with an electric fan that cools the intercooler radiator along with the huge trans cooler and power steering cooler.
All hoses are custom nylon AN hose with aluminum fittings for the Fuel, Transmission, Power steering (specifically for power steering), and air conditioning (teflon lined specifically for ac). And clamps that were used are stainless cushion clamps with stainless hardware. All coolant hoses are made of aluminum tube and silicone hose with stainless clamps.
The fuel tank is a brand new 38 gallon with a sump welded in to ensure no fuel starvation. The fuel lines are aluminum. The supply is 5/8", and the return is 3/8". It has dual fuel filters to guarentee clean fuel at the pump. It has an upgraded lift pump (piston style from an industrial 6bt) to keep up with the fuel supply needed for 500HP and 1000lb of torque.
The exhaust is 100% custom, 4" diameter, and 100% stainless including the strait through style muffler.
The transmission is a 47RH out of a 1995 Cummins Ram. This is a hydraulic overdive transmission. No computer is needed. There is also an inline transmission cooler thermostat before the cooler. That bypasses half of the fluid flow back to the trans before 180* F. After 180*F it opens 100%, and allows full flow to the cooler. This is to be sure the fluid isn't too cold and thick in cold ambient temps due to the size, and efficiency of the cooler, extending transmission life. The shifter works off of the stock GM column due to a custom cable shifted set up.
The rear differential is a full floating 10.5" 1 ton GM 14 bolt it has no brake system on it, I was going to do the 1977 3/4 ton front rotor / caliper disc brake upgrade right before it hit the road. The rear gear is a 4.10 ratio, no carrier, it was a garbage gov lock I wanted to go with a real carrier, a Detroit locker. The front diff is a 3/4 ton Dodge king pin Dana 60 from a 1989 w250. The gear ratio is still 3.08 open carrier. The kingpins are freshly rebuilt. Both were cleaned and painted with Por15.
The steering was converted to heavy duty crossover steering. There was a steering gear box brace added to the frame to cut out the chance of the dreaded GM cracked frame.
The transfer case is a Dodge NP205 from a 1989 W250. The trans to transfer case adapter sleeve was machined so the transmission tail shaft seal could still be used on the 47RH. The floor was not cut for the shifter yet, I was thinking of going with a cable style shifter so I wouldn't have to.
The under body and frame were power washed, rust neutralized, and undercoated 100%.
The suspension has a total of 8" of lift. All springs are Skyjacker Soft Ride. The front springs are 8". The rear springs are 4" with flip shackles. The rear also has Air lift air bags to help sag if you tow something heavy. The front spring front hangers are Beyond 52 hangers, so you can use rear leaf springs in the front for articulation later down the road if you want. There are both front and rear 10,000lb trailer hitches with a 12,000lb winch in a hitch cradle that can be moved to either one.
The body is amazingly clean! There is only one through rust spot. That is the drivers side lower quater panel. It comes with a patch panel for it. There was a custom gauge panel made with nine aftermarket glowshift gauges that come with it to keep an eye on everything the drivetrain is doing. The windows are hand crank. The tailgate window is power. It has three row seating with the third seat included.
The buyer is 100% responsible for shipping. I will help load the truck, and be flexible for a pick up time, but that's as far as I can go.
