Car description |

Up for auction is an extremely rare 1959 Chevrolet TWO DOOR Wagon (Brookwood). Approximately 20,000 TWO DOOR wagons were produced in 1959, making it least produced vehicle in 1959 (reference www.348-409.com). Far more rare then the 1959 Impala coupe and Convertible. Very similar to a Nomads of 1955-1957. This is the real deal, not a four door wagon converted to look like a two door.
I purchased this car approximately one year ago from the dry state of Texas. When I purchased it, it was solid and straight, however had been neglected. Over the past year, the car has received NEW paint, interior (Impala), chrome, engine, transmission, wiring (front to back), disc brakes, exhaust etc.
The car maintains its original color scheme, Classic Creme and Highland Green. The interior was upgraded to the Impala themed multi-colored inserts and green vinyl. The interior is completed new from carpet to headliner, including the packaging area in the back.
The car started its life with an under powered inline six cylinder motor and three speed on the column. During the restoration, the car was professionally outfitted with a rebuilt, period correct 283 Chevrolet small block motor and 350 automatic transmission. This was done in an effort to preserve the overall look of the car, however make it functional on today's modern roads. In addition, the car received a front disc brake set up, which makes it safer for today's driving conditions. The wagon was completely rewired from front to back for safety. All dome lights, courtesy lights, headlights, turn signals, speedometer and gas gauges work.
The car was restored by a professional shop in southern California. They specialize in Impalas and Bel Airs and have been doing so for approximately thirty years. Although the car was restored to a very high standard, it is not a 1000 point concourse car. That was not my intention. My goal was to have the car restored to a level that anyone could take to a car show or cruise spot, however drive 1000 miles on a moments notice if needed. Known defects, the car retains its original sided glass which has some minor imperfections. The driver door glass has a vertical crack. The windshield is brand new. The side glass and rear gate glass go up and down perfect. The bumpers were rechromed, however the rear has a blemish. I tried taking pics but was difficult to show. The car has a new set of oversized Intro wheels ($3500). The car was professionally lowered two inches to give it a more aggressive stance.
Overall this rare 1959 Chevrolet TWO DOOR wagon is ready to go. I have included photos of the bottom of the vehicle to demonstrate how clean it is. I would be happy to answer any questions, provide additional photos or videos upon request.
