1935 Chevrolet Extended Cab Street Rod. I'm assisting the family of a good friend after his passing with the sale of this high quality street rod. My friend had over 50 years experience with hot rods and collectible cars and this was his final project. Unfortunately, he was unable to finish it. This is the only vehicle that he thought highly enough to purchase....twice. I assisted him acquire this truck the first time approx. 10 yrs ago. We drove it from Knoxville TN. to his home just north of Milwaukee, WI. and the truck handled flawlessly and made the trip without issue. He held on to the truck for a few years, but horse-traded it away actually obtaining a nice Lincoln street rod for himself and a Cobra replica for his daughter. When the opportunity arose, he purchased this truck back citing it's "excellent build quality". He was having the paint updated prior to his death to knock the 90's out of it. The truck previously was Green and the "vanilla shake" color it currently has on it. The green (as seen in the dash photos) was eliminated from the exterior. The paint is laid very nicely on a professionally built body.
So, you're saying: "They didn't make an extended cab in 1935!" You're right. The steel cab was professionally built and is flawless. Anyone that has ridden in an early pickup knows that they are tight on space. The extended cab of this truck creates plenty of leg room for even the sequoia-esqe tall guys. The shop that built this truck did a fabulous job on the suicide doors which are equipped with keyless door poppers and power windows. As you can see in the photos, the door panels have not been put back on after painting. The panels are included and have leather which match the leather seats. I'm guessing the seats are of GM origin. There is an am/fm/cd stereo with ample speakers. The truck also has ac/heat and a tilt steering column.
The fenders and running boards are fiberglass although the running boards are steel reinforced if someone were to step on them. The topside of the running boards are painted, so nobody has stepped on them as to prevent paint damage. The bed of the truck has a custom steel toneau cover which is hinged near the front of the box. The bed is quality finished wood with chrome strips. The Dr. Pepper cooler houses the battery and there is tool/cleaning supply storage to the right side of the bed. Stainless cupholders keep your drink secure while tailgating. The fuel filler is also located in the bed.
The engine is a 1960 Buick Nailhead mated to a 400 trans. It's outfitted with dual 4 barrel carbs, Offenhauser finned valve covers and the start of a custom air cleaner. He had plans of making a faux set of velocity stacks stick through the hood, but didn't quite finish them. The steel hood is cut for this. One could proceed in this direction or possibly add a scoop to cover the area. This truck runs strong, fast and draws a ton of attention.
I am certainly willing to answer questions and will try to find answers for you. I've been around this truck for a few years and wouldn't hesitate to add it to my garage. Unfortunately, My wife won't allow me more toys. This is a high quality build that with a little bit of finishing has Best of Show capabilities. The nice thing is that you can enjoy it now as it's tun key drivable. I will assist with your shipper, but buyer is responsible for all costs associated with shipping. I'll pick you up at MKE. fly in, drive home!
The family is not interested in trades as they have a few other vehicles to sell as well.
