Car description |
---|
I bought this 1972 Corvette three years ago, on ebay, with the intention of having a nice driver. It sat in dry storage in Georgia for 22 years before I got it. As you can see it came with the Georgia lic plate with the 1993 sticker on it. The plate is not included in the auctionby the way.
The pictures on the ebay ad showed dull but intact paint. What showed up was paint that had some small bubbles here and there. Within a couple weeks the paint was peeling off in sheets and now here it is. I was still deteremined to put this classic back on the road.
I replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump, cleaned the fuel lines and replaced the steel and rubberlines as necessary, flushed allfluids, rebuilt the Holley carb, replaced the brake master cylinder, calipers and pads.It has new ignition wires, distributor cap, rotor, coil and wires. I just put the tires on it last fall.
The body has no cracks that I can find and the frame and bird cage appear rot free. There is of course plenty of surface rust, dirt and cob webs.
The interior is in reasonably goodshape, but like the rest of the car it is tired. The foam padding is going bad and the seat skins are getting split seams.
It starts and runs but it seems the ignition breaks up when it gets hot.
I am sad to say it is time for this classic to move on to someone that can give it the attention it deserves.
This is a low reserve auction! I know I am going to take a loss on what I have invested in it but I have to limit that loss as best as I can.
I do not have a buy it now as I plan to let the auction play out.
Please ask any questions you may have before bidding and please have the funds available to finish the sale.
Inspections are encouraged! I can even get it on a lift for you.
International buyers are welcome but I am not responsible for and taxes, tariffs, fees, bribes, Etc.
I am, however, perfectly happy to help your shipper load the car.
Thank you and have a great day!

I have received many requests for frame pictures so here you go. I also have a lot of questions about the Bird cage which looks very solid where I can see it. I tried to get a picture of inside passenger side kick panel, I hope it helps. The trim tag is pictured with the title and the original color is Ontario orange. It is a non-AC car. To the best of my knowledge the engine and trans are original to the car. I am going to do some more research to verify this. Also the VIN is miss-recorded on the title (letter S is a 5 on the title). I will supply an affidavit with the title to remedy this.
