Up for sale here I have a mostly original 1947 Chevrolet 3600 flatbed truck with its complete 216/4 speed and open driveshaft. It has plenty of patina if that's what you're into was originally blue. then red. and now whats left of the green. The truck was licensed. insured and used into 2007 when a previous owner got hard up for money and scrapped the radiator and battery for money to live on. I got the truck from his landlord who got the truck as payment for past due rent back in '07 and its been sitting in their yard ever since. The truck rolls and steers but the brakes are trying to grab and I will get them freed up to make it easier to load. The truck has a clear KS title in my name that matches the door tag. I got keys with it when I bought it and I have the one for the locking gas cap but the other key doesn't fit the ignition. The ignition turns without a key in it. The 216 is complete and full of dark oil and turns over easily by turning the fan. The transmission shifts into all gears and has had a small PTO added to it. The gas tank mounts under the cab and bed and appears to be usable but has a dent in the bottom. If you were going to run the truck as is the exhaust looks good but needs tightened up on the manifold. The emergency brake seems to operate fine. As far as rust the truck isn't too bad. It does have some bubbling in the cab corners and lower cowl. There's a small amount of rust in the kick panels at the very bottom. The drivers side floor is nice but the passenger side is soft with some small holes and the removable center section around the shifter is in bad shape. I can pick up new parts for the buyer from LMC truck with a 10% discount if the buyer wants me to I live close by or used parts from Jim Carter classic truck parts but no discount there. The doors are nice and the rocker panels are perfect. The front clip isn't rusty but it has dings in every panel from 60 years of use. Someone primed around parts on the front clip for some reason but it doesn't appear that any bodywork was done. The passenger side headlight and ring need some work because they're loose and the hood has 3 holes drilled in the top of it near the center trim. The drivers side cowl is nice and straight but the passenger side has a very slight crease in it below the vents. The front bumper is straight and has some added bumper guards that fit it fairly well. The roof is pretty straight but has what looks like a patched hole from a past accessory in the middle front and it has a hole from another removed accessory on the drivers side rear portion. The back of the cab has some dents in it but no major cave ins. The short running boards are rust free but have some dents along the edge. The frame is rock solid everywhere only surface rust. All of the glass in the truck is usable as is but it has yellowing and blemishes in it. The exterior vents both open and close like they should but the handle is stiff on the upper one. The doors and hood open. close and latch properly. The windows roll up and down as well. The interior is missing very little mainly the sun visors. They added fire extinguishers to both kick panels and a temperature gauge to the dash in the drivers side radio knob hole. The extinguisher on the drivers side is an antique brass auto unit and the passenger side is a modern one. The seat has a worn cloth cover over the original material and the drivers side is showing the springs under the cushion. The wood flatbed was in bad shape when I went to pick it up so I tore off what I thought would fly off going down the highway. The drivers side wood over the frame would make a good template if you were going to put a wood flatbed back on it as it fits the frame very well. The truck is missing the radiator and battery as stated earlier along with some other small parts. When the past owner removed the radiator he bent the lip of the support all up so it will need repaired or replaced. I've got the call out to a couple of buddies trying to get a straight one will revise listing if I come up with a good one. Shipping is the buyers responsibility but I will help load it.
