Auctioning 1965 Chevy Corvair 2dr coupe project car has been in same family since bought new. Was bought in Hinsdale Chicago by a school teacher when she retired moved to Arizona 1971 and her son purchased the car from his mother and car went to Florida where son lives today. Originally car was a model 500 with a 95 hp engine with automatic transmission he then bought a 1966 Corvair Corsa that was damage in the front with 140 hp motor with standard 4 speed transmission so he but this set up in this Corvair to compete in road rallies he also was a Corvair fanatic and collected Covairs tons of parts. In 2004 he bought a rebuilt 140 hp motor from GM executive who also was Corvair fanatic put new motor in 2006 has about 100 miles on car has sat in garage ever since 2006 do to health reasons sold the car to me thinking I would get it running clean it up and polish paint resell make couple dollars. Got engine running sounds great drove this car for few miles transmission brakes clutch work great. Interior is real good just couple wear spots on drivers seat headliner the rest of interior is good. Car has never been in any accidents has nice straight body. Floor pan is real solid except for one small spot under drivers seat has soft rust spot as you see in one of my photos easy enough repair. Rockers panels are solid no rust same as bottom of doors solid. Only other areas that car has rust is bottom front fenders as you see in photos rear quarters are solid rust free. Up around bottom of windshield where molding meets metal is some surface rust and flaking of paint in some areas. Paint on this looks to have been repainted in some areas when son own this car he removed emblems but I do have original emblems also have brand new hood and trunk weather strips and few other new parts go with car. You could fix the things that need to be fixed and drive it but to make it a nice car would strip paint because paint is faded and checked in areas repair rust with nice paint be nice car. Has good tires fairly new battery starter alternator are new when engine was changed. This is a good starter car for you Corvair fanatics have any questions will answer the best I can. Will send additional photos on request. Have to make your own arrangements for shipping. On Mar-13-18 at 19:42:14 PDT, seller added the following information:
