I will be as clear as I can here to hopefully eliminate some need for questions. but do not hesitate to ask. I will do the best I can to answer. I am selling this for my sons friend. He is a young Marine. who was stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside. When was relocated to Florida. he did not have time or the ability to deal with the truck. So here it goes. I have driven the truck a little bit. It starts right up and runs well. but it is loud. I believe this is an exhaust/muffler issue. Some people may like it. to loud for me. I looked under the car. it does not appear to be an aftermarket intentional type of loud. The motor does seem to be in decent mechanical condition. I do not know any truth about the motor. only what the person who sold it to the young Marine told him. He said it was recently rebuilt. Since it doesn't leak oil and starts right up. I think that is possible. It does have an Edelbrock Carb on it. with some other miscellaneous after market pieces. but nothing extreme. The transmission leaks oil. so when it is low it does seem to have trouble finding the gears. but that seems understandable. What I can't figure out is even when it is filled. it can not find park? My assumption is the transmission would probably be best pulled and gone through. Transfer case. I do not know anything about the transfer case. The car has Warn locking hubs and everything looks to be in place; transfer case. front dif. front drive shaft etc. But I did not test it. wouldn't even really know how. The brakes work (a little). If you are lightly pressing the brakes. they will stop the car. If you apply them to hard. it will go past a point of stopping and the brakes release. If you let off the brake and then reapply. same thing. Very odd? The exterior of the car is a flat black. the body is pretty darn straight. there is some evidence of rust on the bottom corners of each door and on the front of the hood. The truck bed had a spray in bed liner. it is aged. but still there for the most part. There is a locking diamond plate tool box in the back. as well as the roll bar you can see in the picture. It has 35' 12. 50x15 wheels. they are BF Goodrich and have a good amount of tread on them. and I can not see any uneven wear on them. The interior is almost complete. There is a plastic trim piece that goes under the steering wheel. it's missing. The window crank on the passenger window is missing. There is a seat cover on the bench seat. the cushion is good and the seat folds forward correctly. It has some after market gauges you can see pictured. The glass is all intact. Basically this is a great truck for a mechanic. someone with mechanic like skills. or someone who has money and knows a good mechanic. With a little. relatively easy work. this truck could be a great driver. It is a very desirable model year and depending on the effort put into this truck. it will be far more valuable then the wining bid for this auction. Please do not bid on this truck if you are not any of the above and think you will be able to drive it as is. If you do win the bid on this. it will need to be towed from the location it is at. I will not be able to arrange shipping for it. picking it up or shipping it will have to be the buyers responsibility. Please ask any questions you would like. If you are local to SoCal you can come by and take a look at it. Chevrolet. four wheel drive. 4X4. pick up. Classic Chevy
